Looks like we need extra mice.

Look like Yahoo in fact did provide some foresight on Friday even with the clogging. While a lot of us believed in the $30m+ opening day based on crowd report, Yahoo at least showed some evidence against it, although I dismissed it based on the thinking that 1) the updates appeared to be clogged; 2) the ratio is unpredictable once we get to the over $25m opening range. Continue to learn.

A somewhat related question:
So what exactly happens when a movie is moved to the front page, is it not possible to estimate the Sat returns too?

The front page presence mean more people are linked to the voting section so it is more likely they will vote for it than with out a front page link, thus clouding the results.
It might be possible to do the saturday stuff as well, but there's not enough data about it. Plus with TDVC we're talking about a worldwide release which toughens it even more to get reliable data

Excellent projections. With the revised Friday, my projection accuracy for Da Vinci dipped a bit, but tis ok. I'm learning as well!

Saw DVC tonight at 8pm with my 13 year old stepson, who just loved it and is now reading the book as I am typing this. He is full of questions and that is the beauty of the movie. We have a new fan!! Surprisingly, the theater was about 3/4 full for an 8pm showing on a Wednesday evening. I think it will have a strong showing this weekend, dropping maybe 45%. I liked it a lot the first time and even more this time!!

I think with the clogging and new frontpage we will see a lower ratio then Fantastic Four. 130 IMO.

Still no update, but 353 written. So, there must be a minimum of 1,200 and probably over 1,500. Huge start.

We wouldn't expect a higher ratio given the expected frontloading from GFBs?

Maybe. Still HP wasn't that high, and this isn't quite SW. I don't see over 200.

I wouldn't be surprised to see this rake in 7,000+ reviews today.

Updated below. Yahoo! did respond to my e-mail and said they are hoping to have the resources to fully resolve all "partial updates" (their terminology) by the early Fall.

I'm sure they could care less about partial updates. In fact i wouldn't be surprised if they did it on purpose to stop people like us refreshing constantly and sapping their bandwidth without offering anything back to the site
All of us here who refresh around half past each hour effectively are presenting a DOS attack on their webservers!

Remember that HP startet on the same day worldwide. X-3 startet at least in germany yesterday already, I wouldn't set the ratio too low
