Post Official Saw 3 Premise revealed
http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=14802

"Lionsgate has released the official synopsis for the anticipated Saw III, opening in theaters on October 27. The synopsis includes a spoiler if you haven't seen Saw II, so we highly recommend you watch the second film first before reading on!

Saw III stars Shawnee Smith and Tobin Bell. The film is directed by Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II), with story by franchise originators Leigh Whannell and James Wan (Saw, Saw II) and screenplay by Whannell.

Jigsaw has disappeared.

With his new apprentice Amanda (Shawnee Smith), the puppet-master behind the cruel, intricate games that have terrified a community and baffled police has once again eluded capture and vanished. While city detectives scramble to locate him, Doctor Lynn Denlon (Bahar Soomekh) is unaware that she is about to become the latest pawn on his vicious chessboard.

One night, after finishing a shift at her hospital, Lynn is kidnapped and taken to an abandoned warehouse where she meets Jigsaw (Tobin Bell), bedridden and on the verge of death. She is told that she must keep the madman alive for as long as it takes Jeff (Angus Macfayden), another of his victims, to complete a game of his own. Racing against the ticking clock of Jigsaw's own heartbeat, Lynn and Jeff struggle to make it through each of their vicious tests, unaware that he has a much bigger plan for both of them..."

Sounds interesting. At least it doesn't just reuse the premise of the last two.

I like the change-up, though I can't say I love the premise.

The movie should still be great though.

Sounds decent enough to me. I trust the makers.

Since when does anyone of the mentally disturbed horror-porn community care about plot details? Wouldn't "Saw III will feature more amputated limbs then ever" be enough of a press-release for them?

What i liked most about Saw I and II is the fact that they had a great plot with an amazing twist ending. :D The limbs are just fun extras .

Im gonna be hoenst about the Saw films. You got 80min of meh and maybe two times where a kill or a scene makes you cringe. Then you got the last 10min that makes the film suspensful and ending that saves the movie from being a D at best.

Hmmm, i remember saying SAW II's premise was hysterical when it was first revealed.

And Saw 2 was okay. This one's premise sounds better. Promising.

None of the SAW movies have ever been more than 'Okay' for me though. Surprisingly.

Sounds pretty good, actually, if done right. Sounds like they're going for more simplicity (SAW I), as opposed to multiple victims (SAW II).

Although, I wonder what kind of part Shawnee Smith has. The premise doesn't even include her.

Well, it sounds good on paper and I'm sure Lionsgate sort of knew that this chick couldn't carry this movie on her own, so they kept Jigsaw around for 1 last hurrah and that was smart on their part.. I really enjoyed the hell out of SAW II and so did it's box office, so naturally, I think this is gonna make a pretty good chunck of $$$...

The first time I saw Saw II I loved, and the second viewing it didn't hold up well at all...Partly due to the twist ending, but frankly when you don't focus on figuring out what the tiwst is and focus on the movie itself, you realize it is quite bad.

Its also great that they are doing something different with the plot each time.

I didn't like the first Saw when I watched in theatres. I felt it was too corny but after seeing Saw II and rewatching the first I find it's better than I thought on repeat viewings and I thought Saw II was pretty excellent. I like the idea of S3 and am looking forward to it.

Saw will join the ranks of Nightmare on the Elm Street, Halloween and F13 as one of the longest-runnhing horror franchises ever (theatrically).
