there is very little in the movie that is unintentionally funny .. maybe when scott cries .... thats comedic gold.

Well, as I said, it's like with Terminator.

T1 - A-
T2 - A/A+
T3 - B

X1 - A/A+
X2 - A+
X3 - B

So, certainly that is disappointing for me.

I agree the X-Men series followed a similar pattern to the Terminatorseries, but I just had a different reaction than some:

T1 - A
T2 - B
T3 - A+

X1 - A
X2 - D
X3 - A+

And do you still think there are very few of those "could've been" parts in the 3rd movie? Or were you only talking about scenes that were infact unintentionally funny to you?

(*Note: The Phantom is easily the most under-rated comic book movie ever - I still cling to a faint hope that I'll see Billy Zane will don the purple suit once more for The Phantom II...)

You forgot MiB and The Crow and some more ;)

Okay, then:

Spider-Man > X2: X-Men United > X-Men > Spider-Man 2 > Batman Begins > Men in Black > Batman '89 > Blade II > The Crow > A History of Violence > Daredevil > Batman Forever > Sin City > Road to Perdition > Hellboy > Constantine > Blade > Hulk > Batman Returns > V for Vendetta > Blade: Trinity > Elektra > Fantastic Four > Batman & Robin > Catwoman > Men in Black II

Lets not forget Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, truly one of the more underrated superhero films.

Spiderman is easily the weakest in my opinion. Its too teenage soap opera, That is why is has been so successful, its the only superhero films to really branch out of its boundries, not because its the best film. Its a great adaptation, that doesnt mean it is a great movie. Its very cheesy and fluffy, with an interesting story.

I have it as:
1. X2
2. Spider-man 2
3. Batman Forever
4. Batman 89
5. Spider-man
6. X-Men
7. Sin City

I don't really care about the rest after that. Batman Returns and MiB I haven't seen since I was little, so I left them off.

By the way Lecter, you classify A History of Violence and Road to Perdition as superhero films? They're about "heroes", kind've, but not really in the same way as the other ones at all.

Not superhero films. Otherwise Sin City wouldn't classify either.

Comic Book Adaptations, they are.

I saw it today. I give it a B+/B grade. If it had been 20-30 minutes longer I would consider an A. That was my greatest problem with the film, a lot of it felt rushed. And because of that several characters had a poor treatment in the movie, mainly Rouge, Angel and Colossus. Another 20-30 minutes could have helped those characters. Okay here are spoilers

[spoil]The good
Magneto, He was awesome, especially McKellan he did a brilliant job in this one and some great scenes. The scene with the Golden Gate bridge was great. Some might not like it that he got cured but wasn't cured, more about that later, but I liked that especially since he saw the error of what he had done.
Storm, this was the best one Halle was in really. Finally she flew and used her full powers and also she had some better acting than the previous films. I liked her eulogy during Xavier's funeral it was very touching.
Wolverine of course I am a fan of him and he was great though he was great in all of the movies
Iceman, finally ices up I liked the pyro fight though it was too short.
I did like Beast and Shadowcat, Kitty's scenes were nice especially the one with Bobby.
Okay some things I didn't like.
Angel now he had almost no time in the film, this is where 30 more minutes would have helped and he could have trained and maybe done more in the final battle.
Rogue man was she wasted and she took the cure although, I don't blame her I guess.
Colossus vs Juggernaut now this should have happened why it didn't is beyond me. It was a funny scene watching Kitty run from him but Colossus should have fought him at least for a few minutes.

Of course I should add in Cyclops, they should have made it clearer he was dead and made it more emotional. Xavier didn't even seem to care when Logan said it, unless he already knew. It didn't bother me a lot though since I have never been a big Cyclops fan, but it does suck for those who are I am sure.

Now that is out of the way about the cure I think it doesn't work. I knew the Cure was either going to be a failure or a design of Sinister and/or Apoclypse. I think its a faliure. Magneto was able to move that chess piece at the end. I am guessing it is because of the way Leech's power works realize when Beast moved away he gained his power back. There was no guarentee that whatever was put in their blood wouldn't permeant. The mutant genes could fight back and destroy those they put it over time. So Mystique and Rogue will probably be getting their powers back too. Now you could argue that was lame but it doesn't surprise me the same with Xavier's return. X-Men comics is notorious about doing things like this like all the characters who have died and come back and that recent story line where Iceman lost his powers but got them back, so in a very ironic way it is fitting. Although, I can't think of anyway to bring back Scott and Jean unless Sinister shows up and clones them. [/spoil]

One more thing there will be more movies the way it ended it just sets up. This is the end of this trilogy. I think the next trilogy will be a combination of Apoclypse, Sinister, and the Days of Future Past story line.

As for the previous movies I would look like this
X1 B
X2 A-
X3 B+/B
I think it was better than the first one but the second one is still better.

My biggest problem was the death of Cyclops, I wasn't even a fan of him, But I mean, they didnt even show his body. All of the deaths were well done other than that. and Xavier being alive at the end was great. I mean he put his mind into the vegetable at Moire Island, that got me so excited. Though its too bad that he will never be Patrick Stewart again. unless they work something out.

Next time they should just do a little more writing for the characters. Everything else was great. Rogue, and Especially magneto and Mystique loosing their powers were very touching. Though now that they get their powers back, thats a great lead in to the movie. Especially with Rogue, they could really expand on her pain in the next film. maybe she kills Iceman when she regains her powers.[/spoil]

Well
[spoil] I bet she just hurts him and runs off. I have actually thought of a storyline for her let Sinister take her and maybe bring her to Apoclaypse and let him shape her into one of his horseman, that could be cool and at least give her something to do [/spoil]

Back to you

[spoil]I figured perhaps it left room that he was still around. I figured the end credits it was going to Cyclops alive at the end. But Im not sure. It looked like for the brief minute that we saw cyclops it looked like it was when Rogue kisses someone. So perhaps there is no body because she desintegrated him like the professor and tried with Wolverine. I found the only problem with the Wolverine subplot with Jean, was that it looked like it should have been Cyclops character. I mean, if you had some freak occurance that she was found unconscious, almost every scene with Wolverine and jean probably would have been more meaningful if it was Cyclops, afterall, she did say that she loved scott, not Logan in the 2nd film. I think then they could have explored more on the relationship between Wolverine and Storm and Beast. I mean Wolverine would still feel for Jean as well, but Cyclops dying with jean at the end would have been more dramatic me thinks, as cool as Wolverine was.[/spoil]

X3 was AWESOME and get's an "A+".. Ratner did a great job, the action was fantastic, the performances were great and clearly this is the BEST since SPIDERMAN II.. Perhaps they should let Ratner direct BATMAN BEGINS SEQUEL and show Nolan how it's done in blending in action properly and keeping moviegoers on their toes without nodding off.. Bravo Ratner.. :2thumbsup:

What love feast are you referring to?? AVP?? The movie kicked ass so sue me.. And frankly, I could give a fuc* whether anyone trusts my opinion or not on this movie.. It's the best to come out since SM2 and is head and shoulders above BATMAN BEGINS.. Face it: MARVEL Movies Rule anyday over DC Movies.. There I said it..
