Nah, its not them. The news is pushing this whole "controversey thing" too. They have no idea what forms they're even lapping up. The guy asking me questions today kept saying "So you decided to see this despite the controversey?" And I just said "Honestly, its not that controversial. Its a typical piece of genre fiction everyone is reading too deeply into." But the guy kept coming back to it, and I kept saying the Church can think what ever it wants, the book and movie just aren't all that unsettling or profound. :-)

Much better for Over the Hedge as well. I'm hoping for around 500-600, at least.

Not as big a jump as I imagined for TDVC though. Should still have a couple of such updates to come.

you guys, this will drop on saturday AND sunday. remember that. mixed/bad wom + no sold out midnight screenings will be a drop of arond 2-3 million, then a 35-40% dropoff from saturday to sunday.
like i said above
27 million friday, 25 million saturday, and 16 million sunday = 68 million opening weekend, and getting around 200 million total, and takes early crown of the summers biggest under preformer.

Um, the movie didn't HAVE any midnight screenings. That alone should keep it from falling on Saturday.

Just too funny to argue. None of the words makes any sense to me.
The Da Vinci Code - 2661, +661, C+
Over the Hedge - 361, +86, B+
See No Evil - 308, +58, B-
This is more like what I was thinking.

Revenge of the Sith
Although technically, RoTS had 1000+ reviews in one hour.

Certainly Sith (pretty much any two hours during the entire day). Not sure if it had happened after that, but my guess is it might have with HP4 and WOTW (on Friday) since both crossed 5,700 mark.

You actually believe IMDb?
Sony said they wouldn't be having midnight screenings, a smart move considering its not the kind that needs one.

Sith was simply crazy, averaging almost 600 per hour for the whole day. It started out with more than 800 reviews the first hour and never let down.
