It should be able to beat the Memorial Day record by about $15-20 million, I'd say.

This may sound crazy, but the quality of this movie may not affect the box office at all. Obviously a lot of people will be there OW: fans, people that don't know (or care) about the change in director. Then WOM, whether good or bad, X-Men movies have not had good legs.

That doesn't sound crazy at all.

I have now been convinced to see this opening weekend, if possible. The 7 minute clip/trailer special on television was pretty sweet. Looks great.

PEACE, Mike.

the scene in xaviers office was ok, the scene at the chuch was great, the angel scedne was not good, on par with the fastball special scene.

but the action and fx were incredible.

The numbers are suprisingly high for these demographics.

big opening for sure. If it opens to 110 million over the 4-days it will break 200 million for sure.

As I keep thinking about it one piece of data stays in my mind: Cinemascore = A.

Don't underestimate that. Besides family films (which have kids give easy As), an A is extremely rare. I'm increasing my prediction:

3-day: 102m
4-day: 125m
Total: 265m

This is just going to be freakin' huge. The marketing is all over the place and non-stop, there's a ton of buzz, and it's releasing on the biggest weekend of the year. With a slightly smaller PTA than X2: X-Men United and 4,000 theaters...

Opening Weekend: $90 million (3-Day) / $112.5 million (4-Day)
Total Gross: $244.1 million (2.17x multiplier from 4-Day weekend; same as The Day After Tomorrow)

This is a lock to make $100+ million 4-day. This will be the HUGE start of the summer.

It doesn't look bad, but I'm still not sold. The church part was pretty awful though. At first it looked like a scene from Rent, and aside from the clever visual gag with the big/small guy, all the side characters and their side powers were pretty bad. A guy who can have spikes come out of his face and a girl who moves from one end of the room to the other fast? No wonder they need hundreds of those guys to fight against like seven or eight X-Men.

It's fake. First of all the movie is barely 100 minutes long second of all if that guy had seen the movie, he would at least have hinted at a big surprise...

I agree - the Memorial Day record will be shattered.

You've seen it, then? Is the 100-minute running time official?

The That '70s Show retrospective special got 7.58 million viewers, including what was added in from the X3 clip. The actual episode of he show only got 6.20 million viewers, so the clip was seemingly a bigger deal than when Fox advertisted ROTS during The O.C. last year.

wacth the 7min trailer.

I love the film, it does not feel that differnt from singer's films. However i like the amount of action in the films. There are going to be some high profile fights in the film. Most important this films fits perfectly as a summer blockbuster. I see 200 million easily, especially if it breaks 100 million in four days.

Yeah, I've seen it. Don't put me down on the exact run time, I didn't check my watch at the start of the screening. But it is anywhere between 95 and 105

With OTH and TDVC out I don't think it will get quite that many theaters.

Well, 4,100+ theatres are assured, IMO.

My new predictions:

Opening weekend (4-day) - $115 million

Total gross - $255 million
