Anyone a fan of Freaks and Geeks?
This seems to be one of those shows that everyone on the internet tells you is the best show to never get a second season. Well, in my quest to find entertainment this summer, I'm attempting to watch it. And I don't see the attraction. Should I keep trying? If I don't like it now (after 1.5 episodes), is there any chance I'll like it later?

I'd keep trying. It took me a while to get into it too. If you still don't like it after 4 or 5 episodes, then you're probably not gonna like the rest.

Well, since I'm home sick, I'm watching, and I'm still not loving it, or seeing why everyone thinks it's amazing, but it's entertaining.

It's probably my second favorite television show of all time, behind Twin Peaks.

The reason why its amazing is unlike other teen shows, they use normal teens. You know the ones with pimples on their faces, the ones that dont look like 20 years old, the ones that dont own a car like every single teen show and dont speak like adults, they arent shallow. What distinguishes Freaks and Geeks is the characters are likable and it relates to most people of all generations wheter it was to start a crappy garage band that your girlfriend hates or trying to get in shape because you have a body of an 8 year old. Alot of stuff people have tried to done and look back and laugh at it.Also there were a few cliches in the show that were missing from other shows. Its the best show about growing up next to the Wonder Years

That and the acting and writing are virtually flawless.

I can't get past the acting, though.

Its because they are supposed to be kids. Nothing wrong with the acting. Kids are supposed to be very insecure, quiet and awkward. They arent supposed to comfortable like upper class kids in Dawsons Creek. You need to remember they are supposed to be dweebs

It's just difficult to watch. I know it's probably on purpose, but I guess it just means that it's not a show I can get into.
