i find it interesting that even the positive reviews so far are less than stellar:
"With the departure of Bryan Singer, there was no way this film would live up to the first two. But at least Ratner knows how to handle both action and drama on screen, even if subtlety and substance fall by the wayside"
"In the hands of genuine storytellers, X-Men: The Last Stand might have achieved real greatness. In the hands of Brett Ratner, Simon Kinberg and Zak Penn - who seem merely puppets to the studio's desire to milk fans of the franchise for all they're worth - it's never anything more than average"
"The stunts are non-stop and we marvel at them all. Yet the heart of this third film about the mutant Marvel comic characters is overtaken by splashy effects"

Well no Ebert and Roeper on there yet and we know those two are very postive.

yeah, that average rating isn't looking too good so far (5.1)...
this one should end up rotten - somewhere between 50 and 60%, methinks..

Looks like the bad reviews are starting to kick in. I dont think it'll be rotten though, around 65%-70% im guessing. Dont forget the CotC were also harsh on BB yet it ended up with over 80%.

I think unlike The Da Vinci Code, the expectations from critics are low going into this movie, so most could feel lenient and give it a 3/5 or 3/4 score. However, getting rotten from both Variety and THR should mean it will end up rotten. I'd say between 40-50%.

Between 50-65% but nothing like what the people boycotting the movie made it out to be. I think they were thinking it will get Fantastic Four bad reviews but unlike F4 it did get a thumbs up from Ebert & Roeper and starting out quite good right now. Ebert even called it the best of the series

I have a Multiple Man question:
In the film he seems to make about a half dozen copies of himself, is there any limit to his copying powers?
EDIT: About forty apparently.

I'm pretty sure there is one. Originally Multiple Man could not make more than 50 copies of himself. I think the number got bigger later, but still, it remained limited.

Too bad the series is ending, I would have loved it if they got to Emma Frost and the Hellfire Club or the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse

In the current comics, multiple man can make unlimited copies of himself. The reason he doesn't is because each copy retains only a small part of MM's original personality so that they each have an amplified characteristic i.e. a nervous copy or a perpetually happy copy. Since MM can't control which personality quirk is released when he makes a copy, he refrains from making tons of copies all the time to reduce the odds that undesirables like the suicidal copy or the murderous copy are unleashed.

You know?? Never say never in the world of Hollywood.. Someone at FOX, perhaps this Tom Rothman, will see the error of his ways and realize these films do make $$$ and therefore, continue on with an X4 With Singer Directing to apologize for the upcoming mess known as SUPERMAN RETURNS..

I think IMDB has a movie called "magneto" scheduled for 2007, which will be a spinoff i think. Wonder what else they're planning.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0499519/
Plot Outline: A young Magneto seeks revenge on the Nazis who killed his family while befriending a young Charles Xavier.

SPOILERS: HIGHLIGHT: Xavier apparently dies in this, however, the review at CHUD indicated that if you stay to the end credits, Xavier is actually NOT dead or he's re-animated again from a "Cure" or from a Mutant..

Only one major spanish newspaper has reviewed the movie from Cannes so far. I expect more to come tomorrow...
Here´s what he said, pardon the bad translation:
"An excellent coda to those two movies about these superheroes. Here, the main conflict of the saga gets more complicated: the search for a link between humans and mutants, social treatments of those who are different, the moral questions which arise from this... (...) amazing scenes, towering action, intrigues and passions that levitate, dissapear and fly... and Halle Berry, delightfully pale and white-haired"
