So we are now assuming that critics and those bad grades now by regular joe schmo are part of the conspiracy theory. Im not a DVC basher like Baba but I also really hate how people now are trying to twist everything now. Im sure it wont affect its opening weekend still on track to 80 million but saturday may drop huge

The Da Vinci Code - 979, +187, C+
Over the Hedge - 105, +10, B+ (down from A-)
See No Evil - 100, +5, B-
Good for Da Vinci comparing it to the other two, which increased small.

At this pace I think DVC will have a 20+mil Friday. OTH's count is worrisome though. Maybe its target audience will show up late though.

Over the Hedge should be fairly backloaded due to the kids being in school... right?

I would never assume that, I don't think there is no conspiracy theory. I just think the grade could get effected by them, which really doesn't matter. To me we can't judget Wom until we how it does this weekend. This weekeend is assured of 70-80 million, IMO.

I think Da Vinci should be closer to 25 maybe even closer to 30. OTH is just really early since kids are in school.

Over the Hedge needs about 700 for a $12m day and over $40m weekend. It can get to $10m today even with as few as 550 reviews.

i'm not a basher. i know nothing abuot the movie at all. i'm just trying to keep things real : )
you know ... we're one of maybe 1 or 2 sites that uses yahoo grades for anything constructive. i doubt the vatican got wind of it and started asking people to rate it bad so KJ makes a bad prediciton.

Poseidon finished with almost 7 times more reviews after 12:30 last week. If DVC does the same, $30M+ Friday is likely. Personally, I think DVC will really pick up tonight, given the advance sales.

Kiddie films usually don't play well into the night unless heavily supported by older audiences. Not sure how much of that OTH will get though with Code around.

OTH I think will be more towards kids/family. Most animated films, etc Shrek and the Pixar movies are that way.

Horlicks is right that the best Yahoo time for a kid movie is the afternoon time until dinner time on the west coast as their pace slows down quite a bit at night.

Two great examples of this were Akeelah & The Bee and Hoot - both which slowed considerably as the evening progressed. Movies that target teens and young adults (i.e. RV, Stick It, etc.) typically see more favorable increases at night.

I've just noticed that OTH is going after the lowest OW gross from 4000+ theatres. Bad release date, bad.

Well it might, I think it will make 45 million that still will be less than MI3 got last week, at the same time I think it will make more money than MI3 probably 165-190.

Not surprising that OTH is doing below most people's prediction because of the abundant CGI crap look Hoodwinked and w are finally seeing CGI films. Oh and also maybe Davinci buzz basically killing OTH with parents not taking their nagging spoiled brats to the movie but instead dropped them off to a babysitter to see DVC

Still way too early, and the last couple of hours appeared to have usual clogging.

I e-mailed Yahoo last week and asked if they were aware of the clogging and if they had a solution in the works. I have yet to hear back from them. Maybe their mail server is also clogged.

It had 408 at 12:30PM EST. It was on the frontpage though so it ended with a 131 ratio.
