You realize there's a full 33 more percent that need to move their vote elsewhere right?

Clearly, those 33 will be going to Taylor because he's a guy (and so was Elliot). So it will be a blowout, 67-33 percent, Taylor.

I don't think that logic really holds up. Chris was a guy, and his votes didn't go to Taylor and Elliott, now did they?
Yes, they were split evenly. Before Chris, Katharine has the same 33 percent...the other 67 were split 22.5/22.5/22 each. When Chris lost with 22 percent, his 22 went 11 and 11 to the men. Or something very close to that scenario. So logically, Elliot's go to Taylor.

Elliot's fans where clearly females. Kat=Female....She will get the majority of the votes!

Elliot's fans are the forest nymphs who follow him while he plays the flute.

Damn you loyal, he does look like Pan!!!

I think Katharine will get the majority of Elliott votes, as Elliott made it this far pretty much solely on people voting for "the best singer." That person is clearly Kat of the two, plus all the anti-Taylor votes like a lot of us here on KJ will ALL be going to her.

Judging by the poll there is only 13 of you...

So... Keep trying to make up reasons Kat won't lose as bad

As I said above... Taylor is talented and unique.

So, I sufficiently answered your question Rod... quit dodging mine! :nonono: How is Katharine different from the hundreds of other pop princesses that we already have? How is she special or unique? Will she bring anything new at all to the musical landscape, or is she destined to be a 2nd rate Kelly Clarkson?

How about a counterquestion? If Taylor didn't have grey hair, what would make him so appealing?

.

His songwriting ability. After his audition, so many people were talking about his original music, on various blogs and message boards. Several posted links to the radio station website that had 3 of Taylor's original songs.

Rolling Stone ended up reviewing one of those songs, "Heart and Soul". They gave it 3 stars. Not bad coming from them.

Jenna Fischer, who plays Pam Beesley on the Office, had his "Hell of A Day" song playing on her myspace website for awhile, weeks ago.

Currently, on her website, she lists him as someone "Who I'd like to meet:"

And his first CD, In Your Time, has sold on eBay for anwhere from $50 to at least 3 $400+ auctions.

Here's an example of a recent auction that went for $202.50.

Elliott Yamin on Taylor:

"I'm great friends with Taylor. We're going to be friends for life."

That comment might sway some Elliott fans to vote for Taylor, the ones who are on the fence, anyways.

"Executive Producer Nigel Lythgoe discusses the May 16 episode", something he has done every week, prior to the results episode.

http://www.tvweek.com/executiveBriefing.cms

Nigel said this, re: who would make the top 2: "I don't know, and I would suggest that probably Taylor will be there in the Final from last night, and then it's anybody's choice from the other two."

That implies, that maybe, Taylor was the top vote getter. Since Nigel seemed to be aware of what the vote totals were before the weekly interview.

All great points... I forgot to mention his songwriting ability, but I think that is a tremendous bonus. It's something lacking from most of these Idols and they are generally forced to record other people's songs.

As for where Elliot's votes are going... I think too much focus is spent on where votes are going to go. I've never seen it have an effect on Idol before in the past 5 years. I think there is too much hoping and reading into things when it comes to this when history tells us it has zero effect.

I'm an Elliott fan, I'd vote for Taylor over Katherine, becaus emuch as I loved Katherine audition since then her performances have largely not done it for me.

CNN just had a report about Katharine and Taylor and it stated how Taylor has always been a poor singer doing whatever he can to sing anywhere and everywhere with his band. Then it switched over to Katharine and how her parents are millionaires how they live in rich area of LA. Taylor needs this more than Katharine.

Sherman Oaks is not the rich area of Los Angeles. It is the rich area of the San Fernando Valley... which in L.A. standards is still pretty middle-class. :hahaha: But she did go to Notre Dame High School... which does show how affluent her family is.

KC your first sentence, you meant Taylor was poor, meaning not wealthy, not poor meaning "bad" right? ;) Kind of weird reading it the first time.

Poor example, but if Katharine was going up against a deeply poor William Hung, I wouldn't want Hung to win just because he needs it more.

And no, Taylor Fanatics, I'm not comparing Taylor to William Hung. Unlike most pro-Kat folk, I actually still like Taylor. I just like Katharine more.

Yeah, the first time I read that, I was like Taylor is NOT a bad singer!!! Fuck CNN!!!!

But, yeah... no reason to vote for someone by how much they need it or don't. Let's just say that neither Taylor or Katharine are going to be needing food stamps after this, win or lose.
