Heh, my theatre just added another show. The movie is playing on 4 (out of 11) screens this weekend and has 13 showtimes daily.

Pre-Sales Report from my theatre:
Thursday - 846 tickets sold (217 since yesterday)
Friday - 508 tickets sold (195 since yesterday)
Saturday - 347 tickets sold (120 since yesterday)
Sunday - 190 tickets sold (2 since yesterday)
Overall for the weekend - 1,891 tickets sold (534 since yesterday)
On Thursday, the 8:15 om showing (478-seater) and the 7:45 pm showing (408-yseater) are both 80+% full. Its night showings are selling much better than any movie I can reemmber, but matinees are obviously much weaker than Harry Potter's. Sunday is in particular weak in comparison to Harry Potter 4 which had already over 400 tivckets sold for it at this point. Thursday and Friday are about the same as Harry Potter 4 had, though. Bigger than Ice Age 2, The Matrix Reloaded or ROTS.

Ok now that's insane. AMC should just build them their own theatre on their campus then.

As mentioned in the international thread. The 3 primetime friday showings at my local are sold out, and the 3 saturaday primes are already well on their way.
The daytime showings are also selling incredibly well. Bigger than anything I can remember right now guys,

 Lexington, KY Regal Cinema Update
6 shows for this weekend (4 tomorrow) night are now sold out. There are two at 75% capacity that could sell out by tonight and one at about 40% that could possibly sell out before tomorrow night. By comparison, the last Harry Potter installment had only 3 sold out shows this early before opening. DVC is impressive because it's not a kids movie, even if the demo will be broader than typical adult fare.

Scott, is that good? I mean thats way lower than what my relatively small theater has sold. It's already sold over 600 tickets for Friday alone.

Scott's theater seldom sells any advance tickets for adult-oriented films.

Okay, here's the report on my theatre tonight (opening day):
6:30 pm (211-seater) - 50% full
7:45pm (408-seater) - 80% full
8:00 pm (287-seater) - 84% full
8:15 pm (478-seater) - 85% full
10:00 pm (211-seater) - 75% full
10:00 pm (211-seater/it's an interlock) - 70% full
11:00 pm (408-seater) - 60% full so far (it's still an hour to go)
That's over 1,600 tickets sold for today's evening shows. It's on par with Harry Potter 4.

Dude. Regal doesn't sell advance tickets via Movietickets
Magnus101 wrote: 40m+ OD!!!! Nah, but I def. see the possibilty of a 30m+ Friday now. Everyone is talking about it in my high school(even people who I thought would never talk about it).
Oh, and apprently, the Regal Potamic Yard 16(a big theater about 30 miles away from my house) has sold out all their shows for the weekend on movietickets.com. You can't buy any tickets online. Though I think that may just be an error. But if its not....wow. Still, the theater closest to me has no sell-outs yet(though the only time I have ever seen sell-outs for non-midnight shows a day before opening is for HP4, Matrix Reloaded, and ROTS so that doesn't mean much).
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
They are greyed out because only Fandango.com has advance ticketing capability for Regal, UA, Edwards, Century theatres among others.

Atlanta has its first sell out for the AMC in Duluth (about 20 minutes away from here) for the 12:45 showing tomorrow. Not a bad start as shows don't sell out in advance here very often.

Scratch that, its a Regal, not an AMC.
Another sellout at 7:15 pm for a downtown theater.
Also, most of the large theaters around here have it on 5 screens.

We have 5 screens for DVC out of 16. I live right outside Toronto. Thats the most since Hp4. Should beat Ice age 2 here.
IN this area, the big huge movies (expect for Rotk) get sold out about an hour before or just before the movie starts.
Rotk was sold out wed-thrus before it opened. Fri,Sat,Sun were sold out for the whole day before 12 am on those day. I had to watch it at 11pm on a sunday. Now that was some crazy stuff.

Friday pre-sales report for my theatre:
3 pm (211-seater) - 2% full (4 tickets)
4 pm (408-seater) - 3% full (11 tickets)
4:45 pm (478-seater) - 10% full (49 tickets)
6:30 pm (211-seater) - 19% full (40 tickets)
7:45 pm (408-seater) - 52% full (211 tickets)
8 pm (287-seater) - 48% full (137 tickets)
8:15 pm (478-seater) - 71% full (338 tickets)
10 pm (211-seater) - 24% full (51 tickets)
10 pm (211-seater) - 27% full (56 tickets)
11 pm (408-seater) - 7% full (27 tickets)
11:30 pm (478-seater) - 2% full (8 tickets)
Total - 932 tickets sold
Yesterday, at this point about 1,100 tickets were sold for Thursday, so it is slightly frontloaded, but these numbers are incredible still...

Keep in mind that without a midnight its a pretty good bet that half of Friday would have been taken care of at a midnight show (35+ skew or not). 71 sales for the first AM show, no single show soldout.
Still totally in line with a 60+ opening weekend, it would be phantom zone behavior for it to do less.
