I've seen The Right Stuff, so I guess I'll vote for Quiz Show even over my pick.

I'm not meaning to get picky, but Meryl Streep won Best Supporting Actress, not Actress, for Kramer vs. Kramer.
Oh, and my vote goes to Quiz Show.

I would nominate it too, but its tricky. It hasn't been pulled to DVD yet, so unless everyone is willing to schlep and has access to VHS, it could be hard to get a good turnout. You can't get it on netflix, etc. I was praying EVERY SINGLE PERSON reserved it on netflix just as a little hypothesis about what would happen. So please, if you see this meesage, put it on reserve...just for fun...for me. Chris, see the vhs if you can at least. Tell me what you think. Its fabulous.
Ha. I found it in the library today and will watch it tomorrow, probably.

<----Just for you. I think I'm going to do a list of best book and movie combos, and Kiss of the Spider Woman is going to be at the top of the list. Thank you so much for reading the book and seeing the movie. These were two deeply inspiration pieces to me when I was younger. I saw the movie. Loved it, ran out, purchased the book, and both have been some of my favorites for years now. Let me know asap what you think. I'm dying to hear.
Anyways...back to the voting. Stay away from Sheridan. I still think his best that I've seen was In America....but that's just me.

I voted for The Right Stuff since I haven't watched it yet, and I own it.

Not surprisingly, you were right. I think it played exactly like the book, no? It's been almost a year since I've read it. I don't wanna highjack the thread, so I will talk to you more about it tomorrow through PM.

Looks like it'll be fairly close between Quiz Show and The Right Stuff...
Just waiting for Baumer's, android's and MikeQ.'s votes now.

Wow, I didn't really think The Right Stuff would be so close against Quiz Show.

I've seen all except My Left Foot and In the Name of the Father - and no, I don't have anything agains Daniel Day-Lewis, lol...
but if it's between The Right Stuff and Quiz Show, then Quiz Show, I guess...

Well, then it's Quiz Show. There is only one vote missing (baumer) and that won't change it anymore.
I'll create the new thread later today.

I think we should try to revive this one more time, but with a bigger and easier to access movie. Nothing against Quiz Show, but it's a slightly obscure movie, and my video store didn't have it.
My pick would be something like Lawrence of Arabia, or friggin Jaws. Most of us have seen Jaws, but would it be so bad to have 20 movie fans in one thread talking about it? Something like Taxi Driver wouldn't be a bad pick either, that's pretty easy to get.
