You guys are in denial. don't they have therapy for that sort of thing?

I know we all like to have fun here and jab at each other and make outlandish predictions and then make BABA play with Snrub's tallywhacker once they lose bets....but seriously guys, DVC is on fire right now. There are sell outs on openingnight already and adults, kids and even their pets are interested in all the controversy. To deny this is just silly. You know it will open big and close north of 250. You all know it...come on, its okay you can say it.

A question for the "naysayers"...
What does The Da Vinci Code have to make this weekend for you all to be "successful?" Just so it's on record and there can't be a spin come Sunday afternoon if it "only" makes $65 million and you all somehow think it's a bomb.

No one has to make baba play with my tallywhacker. The mere sight of it drives him into a fiddling frenzy!
In denial we may be. But crazy, we most certainly are.

In terms of word-of-mouth, I'm seeing the film tomorrow, without having touched the book before. For once I might be able to represent your average Joe.

That doesn't really say anything, neo_wolf. You could think $200 million total is a bomb for all we know. What do you think it'll make total, exactly?

Zing, there's no Question that this will be #1 for the weekend if it'll help you sleep better at night, however there's no way in hell that this movie is opeing at over 100 Million for the weekend like some of the predictions I'm seeing.. A reasonable weekend gross would be around 70 Million probably and that's pretty good for something that's mere FICTION with readers being sucked into the vortex of this gobbledegook.. After this weekend and when moviegers finally see this and declare it a 2 hour and 30 Minute snoozefest, they'll be ready for X3..

That's also possible to since Kid's are a strong factor when it comes to box office.. I don't know.. I'm fairly certain THE DA VINCI CODE will be #1 for the weekend, even if SONY has to fudge the numbers..

You gave an F to WASC. Your average Joe (Or Jill - 14 YO babysitter?) gave it no worse then a mediocre grade.
