Taylor or Katharine? Which one will it be?

In the last episode, Taylor had 33.68% of the votes and Kat had 33.26%. You can't get much closer. IMO this is the closest battle since Ruben vs Clay in Season 2, as Fantasia over Diana in Season 3 and Carrie over Bo in Season 4 were pretty easy victories. But this, it is close.

My pick, as it has been from very early in the show, is Katharine McPhee. America will wake up in the finale to Taylor's dancing gimmick, and vote for the best singer.

Yeah, unless you're going to be listening to TonyMontana, then this is not entirely true. They never said Taylor had more votes. If DialIdol is your source, then I'd pick a better source.

I voted for Taylor. Either of them could win it though. I think Kat still suffers from
nerves a bit, and on that big of a stage, Taylor has a bit of an advantage. I don't think I've
ever seen him nervous.

when you guys vote in idol, do they charge you for making that call?

I don't vote for Canadian Idol, but I do think that the call is free. Text messaging costs something, but I think the calls are free, which is why a show that gets 27 or so million viewers can get 50 million votes.

funny cause i was tlaking to my sister who just watches indian idol and they make their money off charging people to vote .. and people STILL vote.

Well, I almost never get through, and only when Lisa was still on the show did I actually
get through. But at that point, I received no extra charges on my phone bill. So it's
only the sure thing of text that gets charged.

Hey... I never said that Taylor was 1st and Katharine 2nd!

I said that about 200,000 votes separated them. However, if I did have to bet on it, I would bet that it was Taylor in first. Simply because Katharine sucks, and I have trouble believing there are that many mentally challenged people and 12 year old girls out there to vote for her!

So, which one are you, X? Mentally challenged or a 12 year old girl? I suspect Eagle is both...

Of course I kid... I know there are 8 year old girls that vote for Katharine too.

Oh, and I'd like to make one more request of American Idol... can I please see more close up shots of Katharine's daddy crying in the audience? Because we just don't see that enough!

I'm the mentally challenged 12 year old girl telling you that Katharine will win American Idol.

It's the only good final two the series has ever had, the rest of them in past years have been human cartoons, laughable really. Taylor is the odds on favorite, everything points to him, but Katherine has a chance, especially since I saw on TV him saying he might die his hair dark for the finale.

He dies his hair dark, and he can kiss his chances goodbye.

Katharine's best shot this week is that they have to sing the same songs and they are picked for the contestant. Katharine is horrible at picking her own songs, and Taylor is brilliant at it. So, it should handicap Taylor a little in that regard.

Taylor will win. I think his style/type of performing is due for a victory. Also, it further reinforces the trend of contestants bred from the American South winning every season.

Katherine deserves to win, she is a real pop star.

Taylor...not so much. But he has the underdog vote and is more popular in terms of the competition.

I can't believe this question is even being asked. Taylor hands down. He has been the top vote getter according to dial idol, which has been about 99.99% accurate this season and with his devoted fanbase knowing that he only got about 200,000 or so more votes than Katharine in last weeks show they will easily put him through by at least 500,000 votes next week.

Again, no one said that Katharine had fewer votes this week than Taylor. If you're going by DialIdol, you might be wrong.

Could be right, obviously. But, could be wrong.

And let's not forget the week where Chris and Katharine were the top 2. Sure, Chris is gone. But Taylor isn't the obvious winner.

AND... just to add more to my case, there are 16 million Elliott votes that will go elsewhere. I'm sure Kat's fans will say that more will go for her, and Taylor's fans will say that more will go for him. We shall see next Wednesday.

There's no doubt that Taylor has a bigger core fanbase but that isn't all it takes. The winner will be the one with the broadest appeal, not the biggest cult following. Katherine probably won't win but the reason she could win is that she might be liked by over 50% of the voters even if her group that loves her is smaller than Taylors devoted following.
