Okay, the last round did not go well, but I hope this does not signalize a lack of interest in the concept itself, but rather the fact that the film is hard to get ( I wasn't able to get my hands on it on time, but I promise, once I'm able to, I will comment).

Both threads, on Dangerous Liaisons and on The Apartment will remain open, so if you want to comment on them later on, you are always welcome.

I hope this round we can get more ettention and participation because if the interest in this keeps decreasing, I'm afraid we'll have to simply cancel this and it'd be a pity. I'm just usually a bit let down that so many projects suggested around here garner so much interest to begin with, but once it gets going, less than half of the inital "participants" back out.

Well, my rant's over and I hope we can freshly restart this thing with more participation than ever before (pretty please!)

I'll nominate Kiss of the Spider Woman since I've been meaning to see it but have never gotten around to it.

One of the best ever. I would nominate it too, but its tricky. It hasn't been pulled to DVD yet, so unless everyone is willing to schlep and has access to VHS, it could be hard to get a good turnout. You can't get it on netflix, etc. I was praying EVERY SINGLE PERSON reserved it on netflix just as a little hypothesis about what would happen. So please, if you see this meesage, put it on reserve...just for fun...for me.

Chris, see the vhs if you can at least. Tell me what you think. Its fabulous.

I'll put myself out on a limb and say a good one to kick start this is good 'ol Robbie Redford. I'll suggest Quiz Show. Even people who don't like it, will find it strong for its direction, or its probing themes. Its pretty fast paced and has a bit of suspense to the drama, too.

Either that, or I'll dig further back into the classics and suggest The Conversation or Anatomy of a Murder.

Actually, I'll go with my first suggestion, Quiz Show. Its really good, more recent, a movie I covered on the main site, and something I think people would enjoy watching. The other ones are actually more famous, and many people here might have already seen them. Especially The Conversation. But few people have actually seen Quiz Show for some reason. I checked and its available in DVD on netflix, etc. So I'm going to suggest that one. Its excellent.

I also disagree with your worries about large turnout. If we even have four or five people that are willing to do this regularly, it'll catch on eventually. trust me. There are so many good movies out there, and this is an excellent way to draw attention to them. Plus, we have Chris and Christian, so really, what more could one want in life? :-)

I voted. I just realized this is, like, Daniel Day Lewis selection-a-thon. Honestly, I must have been the only one that wasn't that thrilled with In the Name of the Father. It was interesting and well done, but nothing I would watch twice. :-(
