Post Grade the season finales
Grade the season finales as they happen in the coming weeks. I'll add my own but not in this post.

Veronica Mars: A Completely satisfying and wonderful in every way. But a few days later, after the OMG! WTF! SQUEEEE!!! has died down, you notice small little things that keep it from being perfect. Though maybe that's just because I've watched it numerous times.

The Office: A+ There is nothing I would change about this.

The West Wing: I can't really grade this, since I haven't seen an episode between the season 2 finale and now, so I had no idea what was going on. But it seemed like a fitting end to President Bartlet's presidency.

I think that's all I've seen. Though I saw the last 5 mins of Gilmore Girls, but realized the rest of it didn't record, and I'm just not interested in downloading it.

Las Vegas: C+ Ed gets shot (but we know he'll be OK when the 4th season opens) and Delinda might not get married. Does it come anymore ordinary? I like this show as a guilty pleasure but this episode had nothing behind it.

My Name is Earl: C
Disappointing to say the least. The series has had ups and downs, slow episodes and hilarious ones, and they ended it with a boring, pointless, almost humorless last episode. The actors are likeable so it wasn't all bad but it was like the writers didn't half try. I'm getting tired of the voice over narration, just show the damn story, stop explaining everything.

The Office: A+
The best show on TV, with a very funny and touching finale written by Carell, and well acted especially in the dramatic scenes. I've already talked about it in the Office thread but I'll just add that I hereby retract any nitpickings from that thread about the finale after seeing it again.

One Tree Hill: B+/B - Just one of the weaker and more cheesier episodes overall, and having the possible series finale end on a note like that is a slap in the face. Still can't give it a worse grade than that though.

Survivor: Exile Island: A- Satisfying end to a decent season.

The only season finale i've seen so far is Veronica Mars. I am waiting for DVD for the Office S2. Mars' finale was good, but not great. I had a lot of problems with its pace and the non-existant build up to a "BAM!" moment. There was no "BAM!" moment, just lots of little "oh" moments. Overall i'd say it was B-/B worthy.

Season finales that i will be watching will be Grey's Anatomy, Scrubs, SVU, Scrubs, Lost, and the series finale of Alias :(

The ones I've seen so far...

ONE TREE HILL - 7/10 (B-)

One of the better episodes of the season. It was still incredibly cheesy but the ending was great!

GREY'S ANATOMY: Part 1 - 10/10 (A+)

Hands down the best show on television.

Still waiting for the conclusion of GREY'S ANATOMY and the season finales of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, LOST, THE OC and AMERICAN IDOL.

Grey's Anatomy part 1: B
Grey's Anatomy part 2: C (missed the first 10-15 minutes)

During the season finale I finally realized what bugs me about this show. While technically the characters are adults, really the show is about a high school with the interns as students.

Archie, you are completely right. I give Grey's a C altogether. Mostly because they've ruined my show.

Prison Break - A. Exciting and fast-paced while illustrating a no holds-barred approach to dispatching characters.

Malcolm in the Middle - A-. Fitting end to a once brilliant series, nothing more, nothing less.

I think calling Greys Anatomy the best show on television is a bit much.

Im surprised it turned into a hit, its initial reviews were pretty poor. All I can say about the show is i find everything about it "tried and tested" . It's not a horible show, but its just not original or gripping enough for me to bother.

One Tree Hill: B+/B
Unan1mous: B - Decent end to an decently entertaining middle of the road reality show. The right person won, the person who was the best socially. She was even the strongest strategist.
Survivor: Exile Island: A-

How I Met Your Mother: C+ - Wouldn't it be refreshing if in one of these sitcoms, they didn't automatically put the leads as an item? It's so cliche nowadays. In this one, the start of the season had it set up so promising for that possibility, they could've just kept them as friends with the comedy as the main factor. But nooooo. Even though she's not the mother, they still have to make a central relationship out of the two. Rest of the episode was a bit weak too, not as funny, and not enough Barney.

...

Remembered about Unan1mous last week, and I saw Mother tonight.

Prison Break: C+

I've never really gotten into this show, and when I have watched it, I've found it not to be very good. So that's a generous grade for the finale. I did like when the weasely guy got his hand cut off. And when the crazy-looking guy stole some girl's bike and a football helmet and rode on down the road, somehow avoiding the cops. And when the plane ditched them.

I bet they get captured in next season's premiere, and next season is all about planning the next prison break... how lame would that be?

So far:

Grey's Anatomy - Part One: B
Grey's Anatomy - Part Two: B-
Prison Break - B+
Malcolm in the Middle - A-
The West Wing - B (heh, might as well)
Arrested Development (from way back in February!) - A+++++++++
Unan1mous - C+
Survivor: Exile Island - B+

I *think* Grey's came to a screeching halt from its streak. Still love Bailey and Christina though. I was surprised with Malcolm's. I wish there was a retrospective, dunno why 70's Show got one instead of the show that gave Fox more awards and was one of the early single-camera sitcoms with no laugh track.

I have to say, i really liked Grey's Anatomy. For basically this entire Izzy/Denny storyline i have been rooting for Denny to just die already so it can be over as i hated how it made Izzy. I was really affected when Denny died tonight, as i was actually happy for Izzy. It was her "you can't choose who you fall in love with" thing that kind of convinced me. She didn't pick Denny, and now that i think about it Izzy sure would do anything for him. It was reminding me of Jack and Sydney on Alias. Jack would do, and has done, any and everything possible to keep Sydney safe. I felt really awful for Izzy when she was in the elevator and so excited to show Denny her dress. I should have seen it coming, especially after all me years as a Joss fan. They were happy, that never ends well, but i do managed to get surprised every now and then.

I am not a Callie fan, but she actually made me like her when she stopped Meredith to fix her dress. The death that got me the most was Doc's. They killed him, and showed the whole thing. I care a lot more about dogs than people, fyi. I like that George and Meredith made up, like officially.

I was worried that Cristina and Burke wouldn't make up by the episode's end, and was very relieved when she came in and held his hand. Karev is fantastic. He didn't have much to do the first hour, but in the second he made a comeback. I think the thing that got me the most was him talking to Izzy about Denny being dead, and her crying as he picked her up and held her.

Overall i thought it was an excellent use of the 3 hours, and i had my doubts when i found out it was a 3 hour finale. I have yet to officially add Grey's Anatomy to my viewing as i didn't HAVE to watch it every week, but i will add it next season (which is nice, as it looks more and more likely that i am going to cut Lost as it pretty much sucks entirely now).

A

I already said this in the GA thread, but I'll repeat it and say I'm quite confused by the reaction Grey's Anatomy has received. Some people REALLY liked it and others realized it really sin't anything special.

Arrested Development: A
Grey's Anatomy: C+ (the last 5 minutes earns it that + but it was pretty unbearable to watch most of the time and I actually thought it was the best and most consistent show this season).

The only other ones I'll be watching are Alias, Lost, and Desperate Housewives (yes, I'm an ABC junkie)
