as the combo was on, ana had to go open it. gale waited and somehow, they fought all the way upto the couch where ana died a comfortable death. dont know how long it would take for ana and gale to get to the couch considering michael was in the hatch and should have overheard to come investigate in time.

Just got done catching with the rest of you on Lost (started about 2 months ago). The writing for the second season doesn't seem any weaker to me, having watched it straight through.
Oh, and one question bugs me (maybe it was explained by the writers?): how come the "tailies" had a bunch of them captured, while none of the people from the front of the plane were ('cept for Walt and Claire)?

Henry and Goodwin have vaguely said that the Others only take "the good ones", and as Baba has pointed out, very few people from the front part of the plane are "good".

Lost on the cover of Entertainment Weekly again (for the 4th time I think)
But I gotta say what they did with the cover issue was BRILLIANT and wish they had done it for Housewives when they had the multiple cover page for each housewife.

Pretty good article. Not much spoilers so don't worry, they take a few guesses but they don't really know anything. Some interesting look at the cast dynamics, looks like it's not the happiest set this year.

Entertainment Weekly has a few issues per year where they have multiple covers for the same issue. Like when DH came out, they had one cover for each Housewife and you only get one (unless you want to buy like 5 of them).
Well, they did it with Lost with 3 characters on each different issue (4 different covers in total). But what's different is when you turn the page the next 3 pages are all the other covers one after another. So you have all 4 of them essentially.

I was just thinking about something. Does anyone else find it interesting how DHARMA is very close to DARPA and maybe they writers are hinting at the military involvement (also remember the Army knife Ana Lucia got off the others)?

The glass eye is still one of the biggest mysteries to me. They threw out a bunch of tangible clues at the beginning of season 2, like the knife above.

USA Today says ABC will be pushing this back to October so it can air with less repeats next season. Sounds fine to me.

That would be a shitty cliffhanger if it were true. Mostly because people have guessed it already.
I would guess that it's revealed, but I doubt it's the cliffhanger. People would be very pissed if that was the end of the season.

It was already hinted at in One for the Road. When Jack's dad visits a blonde australian woman and asks to see his daughter.

'Tis official: No more repeats next season!
http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/ne ... &cset=true
Quote: "Lost" will return in the fall with seven original episodes, and then go on hiatus until January or February, when it will return to the Wednesday night schedule with original episodes until May.
...
When it comes to "Lost," it's all about listening to the fans, McPherson said. "Lost" will stay in its current Wednesday time slot and run for seven episodes in the fall. Then ABC will launch "Day Break," starring Taye Diggs as a detective who literally lives the same day over and over -- and it's a bad one -- for 13 weeks.
"'Lost' is a show people really love. They make an appointment for [it]," McPherson said. "They absolutely just get furious when it's in repeat. So we want to be able to say to the audience, it's going to be on for this block here -- then bring it back and it will run straight through."
The show's executive producers, Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof, said today that they're excited about the new schedule and will design the third season around the new airtime order.
"Our audience was incredibly frustrated with repeats," Cuse wrote in an e-mail. "Now when 'Lost' is on, it's on. And, the audience doesn't have to wait all the way until the spring for the show to return, which given the cliffhanger nature of our finale would be too long."
The new non-repeat schedule "allows us to really keep the momentum of our particular type of storytelling," he added.

Glad to hear it.
I'm guessing they'll have a cliffhanger after those first seven episodes, to keep people anticipating the second half of the season.

Another spoiler of sorts from the newsweek article:
[spoil]
One more thing: we think another character is going to die, or come close. It's just a hypothesis, based on the fact that when we asked Michelle Rodriguez (Ana Lucia) to guess which character would die after Libby, she said: "I can't do that, 'cause I know." Then she clammed up.
then later
They were all unfailingly nice and upbeat about their show. (Except for Naveen Andrews, who was said to be "not feeling well" and declined to be interviewed....)[/spoil]

That's a really, really good idea by ABC, repeats have often ruined Lost's momentum.

Yes it's a great move. I wish they would also move it out of the way of American Idol next spring so it at least has a chance.

February sweeps sucked this year. And don't blame the olympics!! (except for NBC's lineup)
House had like 2 new episodes, and so did Lost. boo.
I got so sick of lost having one new episode, then 2 repeats or more, and then 2 new episodes followed by more repeats.

[spoil]Judging from those "spoilers" in newsweek all i have to say is they had better not kill Sayid. He is apparently the only person on the island who still has a brain as he does not just blindly accept what michael is saying as fact. I hope that michael dies and rids us of the whole "THEY TOOK MY SON!!!" and "WALT! WAAAAAAAALLLLT!" crap that we would most certainly be subjected to if he lives and doesn't get Walt back. I was already considering not watching Lost anymore next season, and if they kill Sayid then that would be the final straw. [/spoil]

[spoil]I don't think they'll kill off Sayid. That article was just speculating, anyway.
If anyone's gonna die, it'll be Michael. His flashbacks are spent and he's only there because of Walt. I doubt he's gonna survive much longer. And the guy playing him isn't even gonna be a series regular next year.[/spoil]

Great idea by ABC, but I'm positive there will be just as much criticism next season about the show taking a few months off for a new series. No one is ever happy.

Damn I read that article too fast. I thought they were going to do what I'd read on another website that they were wanting to do which is 7 episodes, a couple weeks off, then 7 more, a few weeks off, then 8.
They are going to be off for 13 weeks in the middle of the season? That is nuts.
So yeah I'm starting my season 3 whining already.

If it was delayed 'til January, like 24, people would still complain. The only way people would be satisfied is if there was a new episode of Lost every week. So 36 episodes a season. And that's not happening.
At least this way, there won't be reruns.
