3 questions about this weekend. And these are the right ones:
1. Will Poseidon brake 20m? I say yes, but forget 30m.
2. Will M:i:III keep the top spot? I say yes, but it will be a tough race, I think Poseidon'll take Friday, but Mission the weekend.
3. Will 2006 beat 2005 this weekend? I'm not sure.

Your preference of a film should not lead to biases
As of now it looks like it might struggle for $25 million.

I know, but still this film is a frikkin summer film. How can it open under 30?

So was Kingdom of Heaven.

Kingdom of Heaven may have been released in the summer, but it was hardly a summer film...

Yeah, KoH was not really a summer film. That's all besides the point, though...The Island was a summer film. Stealth was a summer film.
Yeah...

Alright, I bow down to the OP yet again.
WTF is going on with the past two films? I know Poseidon has gotten crappy reviews but months of PR couldn't drive this film to a 30 opening? This is not good news for the rest of the summer to have two "big" films open well below expectations the past two weeks. Maybe DaVinci can right this ship but I am a bit worried now.

Honestly, I didn't see much PR, which is why I predicted it would open poorly. I've seen much more advertising for Da Vinci and X3, so I wouldn't worry about it. There was nary a poster around town here, which gave me a sense this movie was actually dumped a bit by the studios. I don't think it'll last.
