Post George Lucas talks Indy IV
"I think Tom Cruise proved that people are getting bored with that kind of stuff," Lucas said when asked about the action. "What they want to see is something different. And 'Indiana Jones,' if nothing else, is always different."

He says the script is finally done and the film will "probably" start shooting next year.

"We're working on it, we're working on it," Lucas added. "We've been working on it for 10 years. I think it'll be a great film, but it's completely different. It's still got a lot of action, and it's still very funny. I think it works like crazy."

Id be more worried about Connery right now. See Firewall before you complain about Ford.

I love the article, and the fact that it takes a jab at Mi3. Lucas really is so powerful he can say anything he wants. Can't wait for this movie

How does george lucas get off criticizing something? Has he seen his movies, because they are truly awful and how is Indina jones so different? It is "fun" family adventure stuff, nothing great. I don't care how cruel i sound, but the day that george lucas drops dead (of stage 8 turkey neck) will be a great day.

Because you want someone dead because you didn't like their movie. Of course, people will actually remember him after he dies.

Yea, a lot of 16 (Combined) academy award nominated, massive blockbusters are "Nothing Great"

You can criticize the prequels all you want, but American Graffite, THX111 and the his original 6 franchise films are filmmaking at their finest.

Even if they want to badmouth PM

that is still 9 out of 11 films that are considered great, and 2 that are considered still overall good.

You know?? I really didn't read your post not because I didn't want to, but because as soon as I saw the title of this thread, I cringed.. I cringed at the thought that George Lucas has been saying over and over and over and over how this movie was gona get made, then it didn't cause he hated the script and yada yada yada and you know?? I just don'tr care whether this get's made or not.. Ford is Old and The Last Crusade put closure on it and should just be left well enopugh alone.. On the otherhand, Lucas needs to shi* or get off the pot and do this movie before Ford REALLY is too old..

Wow, i really had no idea people would have such a hissy fit because i said that. In my defense Darkshape, i am only 19 so let's see what becomes of me before we decide that people will remember him and not me. I may have some things in store for myself just yet...

In regards to the whole me wishing him dead thing, say what you will of me being a bad person or whatever, as it is true and i like that i am. Indiana Jones is overrated, i didn't say it was bad. I didn't even say i didn't like it, i said it was nothing great. I like Halloween and all, but i think that is overrated also. The 3 new SW movies are truly horrific, and i don't care what lucas did 30 years ago that was so great because he hasn't written and directed anything lately that is deserving of praise.

American Graffiti is probably the greatest movie about teens ever. Star Wars is probably the greatest sci-fi film(s) ever. Indiana Jones is the greatest popcorn movie ever.

Those 3 things are good reasons for me to call Lucas a God in Hollywood. I don't care about the quantity of his work, the quality of his work is so high that you cannot deny his greatness.

Not to mention THX 1138 - it's awesome new old school sci-fi, with the incomparable Robert Duvall...

Yes.

If released today I would rank Raiders about 45th at the end of the year, Temple of Doom might be 140th for the year, and Last Crusade about 60th. But hey, I still rank Raiders ahead of Star Wars, Alien, Aliens, Blade Runner, Spider-man 1 & 2, both X-Men and many more.

I never thought it was funny or entertaining. Special effects and the rest of the production don't do anything for me, although that's a given since it's from the 80s. What's there to like?

Well, I understand it's one of the most beloved films of all-time, but it doesn't do anything for me.

Well, at least I'd agree that Blade Runner is very overrated. But Indy is a holy territory!
