Anyway, it BOMBED in UK and that despite being an English production with an English cast and the English like football. It was an utter non-significance in Germany and most other European countries. I tend to agree that $1 million might be around the ceiling.

The "real one" with far less apparent popularity. The Superbowl is the most-watched telecast in the world every year.

That isn't true, but I really hope we don't get into that debate in this thread.

But Football is far better then soccer.

Good. Debates usually become tiresome.

I don't know about anyone else, but I tend to like sports (soccer) where I don't feel ridiculous playing (football).

We can drop the discussion, but we can't let a fiction go as a fact. Do some simple research, you'll see that World Cup is the most-watched sports event by far, more than Olympics and certainly a lot more than Superbowl. This is no debate.

You're a female so that explains it. You like something you can actually play as there aren't many women playing American football.

Precisely.

That's why I like soccer so much more. It has a farmore universal appeal and anyone can play it.

Indeed. My last comment on the topic, but the World Cup finale is usually watched by 1,000,000,000+ people around the world.

Man, only a month till it gets going here!

Anyway, Goal will bomb. It never looked any inspired to me anyway.

I'm talking TV ratings, not "watched."

Because it takes less strength.

That's not necessarily true.

The strength to be quick and highly-navigational on your feet is, I would imagine, considered by many to be just as difficult as playing football, if not more

And we should probably drop this since it's meandering pretty widely off-topi.

Have you seen the size of some Football players? They're massive and not fat either.

Huh? I'm not sure how semantic will make any difference. You think a billion Chinese would actually go to Germany to watch the games in stadiums this year? They watch on TV too, as most everybody around the world.

Who cares about the Chinese? I kid ;)

...can we get back on topic?

That's a pathetic count for See No Evil. I wanted to see it but with a count like that, I doubt I'll be able to.

Yeah...I'm sure that $16 million tracking for See No Evil will come true now. $15,000+ PTA is coming. Take that, Cruise!

That is an awful count indeed for SNE. It may end up with 1500 though.

What were you people expecting for that See No Evil thing?

It's in line with other low-budget horror movies with modest expectations. Remember Wrong Turn?

I don't think See No Evil will have a higher PTA than American Haunting did, even with a lower count and Liongates' past success.

Yeah, Goal will bomb. It has 0 advertising, and it's an unappealing genre. It won't break 1.5 million, I'm sure of that.

Actually, I don't think it will even get a 1000 pta, so make that less than a million.

I'm going with $600,000 for Goal. And I have a feeling See No Evil will end up in closer to 1,700 theaters, but we'll see.
