Well, I am 100% positive it will NOT make $40 million.

Still undecided. I narrowed my range to $27-31m.

Undecided as well. The signs aren't as weak as I thought it'd be this week, but I could still realistically see it fall below $30 million this weekend. Right now, though, I'm unsure.

I am a bit surprised with the slightly low expectations of the film at the moment, even if it is tracking a bit lower than expected. Ive heard alot of buzz about it recently in various locations. Tv spots are fairly frequent considering the frequency of TV that I watch and all together the fact that this is a Quality Visual Disaster Flick accodring to reviews and trailers. Im estimating a 39-44 mill opening.
Also my first post. Yes Im from Mojo but normally read more than I post though that may change. I like typing or something...
Anyways nice to meet all you people.

Welcome to KJ, Supafroius!
Anyway, it will be REALLY close I think. At the moment, I am tending to say under with around $29 million.

Under. United 93 proved that there demand is very low for disaster films right now.

The better question is over or under $20 million.

Yep, MG hit the nail on the head there.
I have it just over 20, with 21.3.

Yeah, I'm out of this club, though it does have a small chance of breaking out and surprising.

It was never a club to begin with
I went under as well in my predictions.

As the Friday numbers draw nearer, I am becoming less and less confident in this movie. The marketing is there, I just don't think that the interest is. And it doesn't look like WOM will save this one.
I'm going to revise my prediction to under with $24 million and about a $65 million total.

At this rate with last nights crowd reports and review tracking on yahoo. It is performing for a sub 20 mil opening, which means Mission Impossible 3 can still be number 1 this weekend.

why is everyone basing the weekend numbers off midnight screens?!?!?
To be honest, I don't really understand why they had midnight screenings. This isn't a star-driveb film or a sequel or something. There is no hard-die fans that need to see it ASAP.
However, people are going to go to the movies this weekend and they will see this. Not all $30+ million movies have midnight shows.
I'm pretty sure this can do $35-$45 million.

Midnight shows are bad way to jusdge the outcome of the weekend for this type of film. This flick should deter from any tracking and polls and still break 20 mill and probably break 30 mill. Just a gut feeling now... Though its all I have untill we get some estimates tomorrow so we shall see. =p

Hm. I think it'll barely get past 30. Anything between 23 and 35 wouldn't surprise me.
