Post All Poseidon Challenges are On! (In here)
Everyone keeps making challenges about Poseidon opening weekend, and they're all pretty close. 30, 35, 20!

I'm going to no more than a 7,000 pta, whatever that equates to as far as final theatre count. So, at the estimated 3,555 theatres, Poseidon will not reach 26 Million!

Go ahead. I forget all the people and in what threads have thrown down the gauntlet at my feet, but I pick it up and wave it victoriously above my head. (pretty please no one dig up past evidence of my bets, or I will lose my nerve)

What's the challenge? Remember, keep it within reason.

Anyone else who is challenging anyone else, build it in this thread please, and mods, if you know which of the million Poseidon threads this should go into, merge away.

Engarde!

I'd never bet on this, unless it was someone who's going with more than $45 million opening weekend. And not just because I have a horrible track-record with betting, but it could go either way.

Yes, of course. The film has the best WOM since Finding Nemo, IMO.

If it makes 26m or less I'll change my avatar to L. Cohen movie for a week. If it makes more than that you join the NRA.

I can't join the NRA. I wouldn't know where the trigger was on a gun anymore than I would know where to find the brake pedal in a car.

I'll put a picture of Charlton Heston weidling a gun in my avatar if you'd like?

No, Archie!

Just get her to see Narnia!

Yeah go see Narnia if I win. I hate the NRA too so I don't want that.

You should make her go SEE Poseidon if she loses, that would be funny.

Oh so many good ideas. Hmm maybe rent Narnia AND see Poseidon? And I'd keep the Cohen avatar up three weeks, not one if I lose. We'll work something out tomorrow.

I'll challenge that. Although the marketing has been soft, its been effective and awareness is high. Im thinking MI3 numbers, maybe higher. I think this will still be one of the bigger films of the year. If this does well this week. It shouldn't be hurt as much from Davinci Code- This is more teen oriented. Bring on the hate, but I'm saying 48 million.

DEAL! I get to pick the Cohen avatar, it'll only be for two weeks, cause I already have a good idea!.

Hey. What ever happened to the underdog story? I'd think you guys would route for the perpetual loser to come out on top? I mean, y'all buy the expensive tickets for the twenty or so generic spin-offs of that theme each year. Here you get it for free!

Now root for me, not Archie. I want to see him with the incredible avatar I have in mind. Think of it as two weeks of free entertainment of great quality!

Poseidon is going to sink like a stone this weekend.

You should take a video of yourself printing out this thread and eating it for dinner when Poseidon sails past $40M this weekend.

Damn and I wanted to see those reviews too. Looks like I'll be having a [s]depressing[/s] haunting singer as my avatar soon.

Awww... my quote only stayed up for a few days.

How about this challenge I brought to you before?! If it opens over 26, you put in your Signature "Squee and Dolcevita were 100% accurate in their prediction that Narnia would make less then 200 million dollars (in the Australian market). In your FACE, BJ!" and if I lose, I... do something... I guess.

DEAL?!

:towel:

I sense the tides are changing. *puffs up proud*

I'm going to take the weekend b.o. prize for the derby here every week this year. This is going to be my best predicting year ever (which isn't saying much, I know).

Squee, take up TheGun's challenge. Quick! Make him do it. He said it's going to open north of 40!

Watch it...

and Narnia.

And write a review of how it feels to rip one's eyes and soul out over five painfully slow hours.
