 The Pleasure of Hating One of the great Romantic prose writers, William Hazlitt, once wrote an essay titled "On the Pleasure of Hating", which discusses what the title suggests.
My question to you is: Do you find there to be pleasure in hating? I mean, is there something pleasurable about the act?
As for me, I would say occasionally, I do get that feeling. It's not something laudable, but when has hatred ever been? But it's hard to deny that there is an occasion kick to be derived from it.

I realized that I don't hate anyone. Anyone I may hate is for a ridiculous reason that's probably not their fault.

I have a story.
Today this annoying creature leaves the classroom reading a book - ironically, Frankenstein - and comes back some time later, still reading. She frequently goes to the bathroom, so I decided to ask her if she took the book with her this trip. She responded no. I asked if she used the prologue as toliet paper. She insisted she was getting a drink and I was subsequently chastised for being so hateful. Now, I only see an immature joke here. Yes, I dislike her, and I was being an immature dick, but is this HATE worthy? Even blackmailing teachers and whatnot - one of my most favorite pastimes - isn't really a manifestation of my HATE for anything... So..
Well, I do hate hickerbillies and such. Can't stand them...
