[spoil]They could go into a giant mass exodus of killing... but yeah expecting us to follow flashback storylines spaced out 7 episodes apart (A.K.A. Jack and others) is too hard for the normal TV watcher. I guess this might be the certain "inevitablity" perhaps.
I'd say the only safe ones are the fan favorites - Hurley, Sawyer, and Locke.
If Eko dies next episode I'm going to soooo angry. That tree looks pretty tall....[/spoil]

I actually thought the entire episode was great. Of course the ending was really shocking, one of the best moments of the entire season, but Sawyer + Ana-Lucia, Michael's return, Ana-Lucia's flashback, and everything else made it one of the best for me.

How to identify bad writing
- Woman continously asks you for a gun
- You continously refuse it cause she has a history of shooting your friends and beating you up
- Woman attacks you
- you have sex with woman
- Woman reminds you not to mention the sex to anyone. Walks away
- You put your pants back on, never noticing that you didn't put the gun in your pants again, the same fun this woman kept begging you for and the same gun that you're protecting with your life otherwise.
- as you walk the beach the whole day, sit down, you never feel it against you.

That's all I need right there to identify bad writing.

I was talking to my best friewnd about this and suprised it didn't come up before in this thread. I think that was single-handedly the most un-believable and stupid plot point Lost had come with.
Posters were commenting on the writers dumbing down both Locke and Kate in Season 2. Is Sawyer a last minute victim to join that list?

I had a post I deleted yesterday because I thought people were upset with too much negativity, basically saying that this season they keep having actors act conveniently stupid in order to serve the plot. It's happened many times, like when Sawyer tricked Locke to get the guns, or when they believed Michael's story of rugged primitive Others when Kate and Jack know full well that the Others are faking primitiveness. I can't remember the other times but it's something that keeps happening.
On a positive note, I was impressed with the visual look and direction of this episode in a way that I haven't been most of season 2.

I think Sawyer was just too preoccupied with the sex he had just had (for the first time in two months, no less) to even remember the gun. As silly as that sounds, it's possible.

A banana is an absolute perfect way to keep a monkey busy while you rob him. Unfortunately, a monkey usually just has loose change on him.

They didn't have sex.
How rude for the writer to put this in Lost. Shame on him.

Shame on them, for starters. And neither of the two writers were male. Unless Elizabeth and Christina are guy names.
And if they are, that's hot.

Ana Lucia had sex with Sawyer shortly before she died. Although I'm sure your mind tried to block out the fact that was sex, knowing you, Imtim.

In his mind, Ana Lucia and Sawyer were playing Parcheesi.

I think Imtim believes it all really happened and the lost writers embelished some facts when they turned the real events into a TV show. Maybe he knows something we don't.

Thankfully ABC isn't HBO and they can't show nudity or say bad words on LOST!

Do you guys remember the book I was telling you about (the one I came across at work) and I also gave an amazon link I think.
That's what Sawyer was reading when JAck came and demanded the guns. I rewinded the scene and the manuscript was in fact titled, "Bad Twin."

Hurley was also reading it earlier in the season, when he and Sayid set up the radio on the beach.

Yep. You're right!
Hurley found it and gave the document a brief mention. Now Sawyer is reading it and it's an actual publised book!

Other way around. The book was made specifically to tie in to lost (the author, Gary Troup, is an anagram for purgatory, the real author's name has been kept a secret). Supposedly, the book isn't very good, but there are lots of clues and references to the show; there are characters named Widmore, Hanso etc.
