Im going to disagree with you there. I am sick of shows saying "In this episode... SOMEONE DIES!" It completely decreases the impact someone's death would have, cause you're expecting it. I seriously had no idea. The episode where Shannon died had been hyped so much that you weren't really surprised when she bit the bullet (literally). I guess this is kind of karma for Ana Lucia, though. She shot Shannon and now she's dead from another gunshot...
Me neither, I was completely shocked. A "wtf" like reaction. But if they had hyped it up and said "Someone is going to die!" then I would have known right from the beginning that Anna Lucia was going to get killed, therefore decreasing the impact of it.
I hope Libby is OK, though, I was interested in seeing her flashbacks and finding out why she was in the psych ward.

Wow wow wow. First, i also have my doubts about Libby being dead as the shot went into the blanket, but if she isn't dead then she knows exactly what michael did and i don't see how he would allow that. I LOVE that abc didn't do that horrible thing they do with the whole "somebody will not survive tonight" as that completley ruins any and all shock. As to the writer's saying ana was always a one season character, what the hell, i'll buy it. They don't mention anything about Libby though and how she was a one season character also, plus the fact that they say she was "shot" and not "killed" makes me think a little more that Libby may have survived. [spoil]ABC sure was an absolute bloodbath tonight, i wonder if anyone died on Invasion?[/spoil]

My guess is that Libby will be comatose so she obviously can't tell anyone that Michael is the killer. Then, while she's in a coma, everyone will somehow find out that Libby was in Hurley's mental hospital (maybe hurley will finally remember, or maybe Gale knows and tells Locke) at which point people will be hesitant to take her seriously when she wakes up.

With all this talk about Ana Lucia and Libby dying (which I think was a rubbish way for them to go), people seem to be glossing over the fact that it appears Claire is Jack's half-sister.

Jack's father pulls Ana-Lucia out in the middle of the night to take him to see someone. They arrive at a house, he bangs on the door, and an Australian woman (who looks a lot like Claire - blonde hair, similar face - only older) opens it. He demands to see his "daughter", but she tells him to bugger off. Given the physical similarities, and the fact that Claire's the only Australian in the bloody show, my guess is that she turns out to be Jack's half sister.

Just saw Michelle Rodriguez on Regis and Kelly. Completely different from what I expected, although she did seem to be on some sort of drug. After watching the interview, I don't think I learned anything.

I think what he's saying is he beleives that is Claire's mother. Jack's dad, from what I could make out of his dialogue, seemed to be demanding to see his daughter.

That was quite the shock. It seems likely that Michael was doing it to get Walt back. Ana's dead for sure, but I don't think Libby is. If she is, she'd be the first main cast member to die before she gets a flashback. But I doubt she's dead, you didn't really see her die. And I agree about Claire being Jack's half-sister possibly, though I didn't think of that at first.
I guess the moral is that people should stop having picnics on the beach. First Shannon did it, now she's dead, then Libby, she gets shot. Who's next?

Find it weird that Christian would come to the house of her mother, and demand to see his 20-ish years old daughter. More likely if it was baby or kid, not grown woman. Just saying, but at the end it prolly will be Claire.
Meh episode.

no one has really talked about the actual episode. I would rate it meh as well, outside of the flashy ending.
I would hoping when Hurley ended up at the wrong beach, that Jin would do or say something funny.

"Lost" seems to have a knack for airing a fairly meh episode and ending it with a bang. Can't they have it both ways?

I'm surprised no one has mentioned that Ana-Lucia was also the second woman to have sex with another castaway on the island, after. . .Shannon.

Sex kills. Positive Jon implied it here first!

Assuming Libby dies, then three of the four main cast members to die are female on an already male-centric show.

Jin and Sun did it and lived. What was different? They were married. Sex outside of marriage kills, apparently.
By the way, Jack's dad called Ana Sarah. Sarah is Jack's ex-wife's name.
And yeah it was a meh episode, the entire season has been meh. I did respect Maternity Leave though.
I keep wondering where that monster went to. The big scary mechanical one that eats people.

Why would others need Michael to kill some lostaways? They are sneak masters, prolly could kill anyone there. Think there are more groups of 'others'.

Why did Jack and Kate believe Michael's phony story of having seen how primitive the Others were when they know full well that the Others are faking their primitiveness?

Who needs an interesting monster when you have Gale. And um, a map with a ?. And um, Locke on crutches.
I've got nothing.

The story of the monster reminds me a lot of the 2004 election and aftermath. During the election they hyped up fake terror alerts to keep poll numbers up and then after Bush was safely re-elected they dropped it and you hardly ever hear a terror alert now. Similarly on the show, they made us believe there was a ferocious monster out there, helping the show get an audience and high ratings and established. Then after it was safely successful and greenlighted for a second season they dropped the idea and now all that's left is some wimpy black smoke that sees people's souls.
