Yay, guest stars!
Carrol Burnett! Ryan Carnes!
Decent episode all around. I especially enjoyed the gay porn trick Bree played on her dad and step-mom. Oh, that Bree!

Rumour has it Laura Dern is joining the cast as a housewife next season with a guest appearance this time round.
Shes supposed to be playing a Las Vegas mom who comes to Wysteria lane to escape her murky past. Sound familiar?

Don't do it, Laura!
I love Alfre Woodard, yet her plot on this show was one of the most abysmal I've ever seen on a functioning show. Seriously, what the hell are the writers even doing with the Applewhite storyline?

I know. I don't get the applewhites at all. Im waiting for them to pull out a shocking revelation but I've basically learned this...
Betty is a nasty bitch!
And Caleb is a gentle soul who might murder you if your pretty.
As for Laura Dern, shes like one of my favourites. I'd love to see her on Desperate Housewives. After Jurassic Park her career never really went wild. I keep thinking she was in Castaway for some reason. Omg I love Helen Hunt too.
Helen Hunt shows off her boobs a bit too often though. I like my women virginal and dowdy!

I heard about the Laura Dern thing too... and I remember reading the central mystery for next season will focus on a major male recurring/regular/guest character (unlike the first two, with Mary Alice and Betty).
And just how awesome is Harriet Sansom Harris?

I loved the cease-fire thing she had going on with Bree at one point (that poker game ending was one of the best in the show's history), but I agree that her plot hasn't really gone anywhere.

Yeah I thought Betty's story will get some traction after that confrontation, but yeah.

Ok... pretty good episode.
They tidied up alot of stuff. So, I guess the Applewhites will be the focus of the show from now on or at least building up to the finale. This was the third straight episode without an Applewhite appearance.
I kinda got a little annoyed by the quick tidy-up of the Bree and Andrew storyline. I liked hwo they handled it but considering it was building from Season 1 even, it's kind of hard to believe Bree came around so fast or so easily now. I guess they might need Andrew out of the way so they focus on Danielle and the Applewhites now. Maybe
I think Gabrielle's story was wayyyy too rushed. I thought at the end of that one episode with the stripper and her devilish smile at the end of the episode (as her boyfriend came by her) we were going to be building a larger story arc. The season should have ended with them getting the baby or something and Season 3 would have focused on the "mother" thing.
Harriet Harris is great but I liked her better in Season 1.
Susan is so ughh. I can't believe I actually miss the Season 1 Mike-mishaps.
Oh well. After next week it better be new till the end.

I felt really bad for Gabrielle when they took her baby away. I hope she gets it back, she deserves it over that stupid stripper.

I agree... first her apology for her infidelity (at the beginning of the season), now this and all the quips and comedic timing and smirks throughout the season. If they don't give it to Marcia, I want Eva Longoria to WIN the Emmy not just a nod.
Bree with the gun was great and her relationship with the sex addict guy is getting a little bit more believable.
Everything else was a bit blah.
The preview for next week looked quite damn interesting.
Did Andrew not do his "thing that's gonna turn Bree's world upside" yet? I thought it was the gay thing

Last night was a great episode, when she lost the baby, it was quite sad
It would cool if Laura Dern joined, I love her.

I don't see why Marc Berman thought Eva Longoria's acting was horrible at the end of the episode. There was nothing wrong with it. It seems like they're pushing hard for her to get an Emmy nod. If they're going to give their award for comedy, she should win anyway. It is, after all, the "Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series" award. No offense to Marcia Cross, who has her fair share of comedy, but Bree is more of a dramatic character in a comedy series.
Then again, the show is hardly a true comedy, when compared to actual half-hour sitcoms, such as "Arrested Development".
As for the episode, I thought it was good. The show is moving along nicely, and I'm liking it more. I still believe that by Season 4, the show will be averaging around 15 million viewers though. It peaked too early.

Too bad though, she declined.

Who's Laura Dern, besides being in Jurassic Park? Has she done anything significant?

Jurassic Park 3 , Blue Velvet, Wild at Heart, she was briefly seen in I Am Sam, towards the end of the film. She was also nominated for an Oscar in Rambling Rose.

I was sorta forced to watch this last episode, and felt pity for what the writers have done to the Bree and Hatcher characters. My god what a mess, this show is almost unrecognizable now.

I think you are so right. My unconditional love for the character Bree has blinded me somewhat but the truth is aside from a very few exceptions, the writing for her character has been quite deplorable compared to Season 1.
Teri Hatcher started out really strong in the beginning of the season but just spiraled down one filler arc after another.
Lynette and Gabrielle really shine now not because they necessarily improved from season to season but that they stayed about as interesting and well written as Season 1 and that looks a whole lot better compared to the lows the other have sunk.
Edie has been in great abundance this season (compared to the last) but this private detective storyline doesn't look primising.

Was anyone else freaked out when they saw M.C. Gainey (that bearded Others dude from "Lost") on the show? Poor guy. The people on "Lost" never thought of framing him for having cocaine!! That'll take him down for sure.

Oh, Susan. People on Wisteria Lane standing in front of a burning-down house seems oddly familiar. Chuckle.

Great episode.
I think they started planting some great seeds for the finale and quite possibly for Season 3.
One technical thing: Can a virgin even have a baby?
Gabrielle: This new direction seems sorta interesting. But if they were capable of this before, why not go through with it instead of adoption?
Lynette: They planted this tiny hint in the midst of Season 1 and they finally revisit it. I hope this rocks their marriage, potentially the best turn her story will turn.
Susan/Edie: Her story si finally picking up and I never though I'd say this, but I'm glad the Mike storyline is coming back I think Edie's reaction is quite an unrealistic over-reaction but it does get their storyline out of this season 2 funk. Well, Susan's at least, Edie was fine!
Bree: I can't believe Andrew did that. OMG... he wasn't joking when he said he's gonna do something so aweful. Bree was great. FINALLY.... this si what I was waiting for in this storyline. Andrew's reaction to Bree leaving him was what I've been waiting for at least.
Season 2 has been such a roller-coaster. I hope it stays on this high. This episode felt more like the Season 1 finale than anything yet and that is a good sign.

What?
I meant without having sex first, can you deliver a surrugate baby?
IT's not like it's my fault I haven't taken an interest in that "part" of women
