A tiny 3.3% increase for a PG-13 film in late October shows a great deal of frontloadedness. I think O's projected scenario is quite reasonable.

Yes, it should break 5,000 in raw reviews.

What movies? American Pie II fell 5%, American Wedding fell 7%, Bad Boys II fell 4%, Austin Powers Goldmember fell 3%.

Malibu's Most Wanted dropped over 20%, and this one will be more frontloaded then that. Really, even a drop over 25% is possible now that I think of it.

Look like Thank You for Smoking will end up with more reviews than The Wild as it will continue to pull away at night.

Anchorman, AVP, The Village, Dukes of Hazzard are examples, and even Mr. Deeds was 10% without that much frontloading. None of the ones you list were as frontloaded as SM except maybe Goldmember, and that would have dropped more if not for the Thursday sneaks.

Malibu dropped bad, but on the other hand The Whole Ten Yards fell -9% and Hellboy increased +8%. SM4 will drop -15% likely, but with the solid WOM I'd say -25% is pushing it.

All the movies I named are comedy sequels.
Anchorman fell 10%, not 15%. Village and AVP are not comedies (Village had awful word of mouth too; Signs, a much better film, went up 3%).

Regardless...its easter weekend and its a heavily anticipated sequel. I'd be surprised to see this break 2.6 IM for the weekend. Hell it might even drop as low as 2.3-2.4

The Wild is really falling off the pace now. It's almost certain to not reach 600 reviews. Look like a $5m day.

Thank god I predicted only $12M for The Wild.
Alas, I underpredicted SM4 by possibly $10M.

My theater which always is well above the average for kids movies only did $1,500 for The Wild today. Even with that it'd be a $4.2 million opening day. So I'd say it would be more around a $1,200 PTA for the Wild which would translate into a $3.4 opening day. Ice Age 2 easily doubled what The Wild was able to do today at my theater.

Looks like The Wild is pretty much done with, being a kids film. Very poor.
PEACE, Mike.

Hopefully, The Wild doesn't make much more than $5 million today. It'd be perfect for my $11.9 million prediction for the derby, along with my $45 million prediction for SM4.

I hope The Wild has a higher than normal ratio... you know... because it would help me tremendously

Here's a good one from EW:
Quote: That'll help boost the box office of the weekend's other wide opener, Disney's The Wild, which'll bring in $23 mil, besting Ice Age: The Meltdown's third-weekend take of $13.5 mil.
