Yeah. I wasn't a big fan either. I was sitting on B-/C+ and went for the B- because I felt like I'm being too rough on the movies I've watched lately. But judging by how many Cs and D' you've doled out, maybe I was wrong, and the selection just hasn't been that great these early months.

Didn't work for me all that much either

I do really want to see Lovely and Amazing, however.

Heh. That's funny, because I actually felt like I was a bit too generous with the grade, too. It's probably more of a C- for me. I wasn't a fan. At all. I have a review up in the Indie thread and the Critic thread.

There's no review thread up yet, and I'm impatient, so here ya go:

I really can't recommend LolliLove enough. Jenna Fischer from The Office wrote, directed, and stars, and it's co-written and co-starring the brilliant James Gunn (writer/director of Slither). If you can handle extremely crude and scathing satire that pulls no punches (think South Park cranked up to eleven, and you're close), you'll get a huge kick out of this absolutely hilarious film. It's a mockumentary about a pretentious, shallow, and wealthy husband and wife team (Gunn and Fischer, who are married in real life, actually) who decide to help the homeless by passing out "designer" lollipops covered in wrappers that contain uplifting phrases and inspirational paintings. It's a bit on the short side (only 65 minutes long), and some of the joke's fall flat, but when they connect, they shoot right out of the park. There's a couple of bits where you won't be sure whether to hold your stomach from laughing so hard or pick your jaw from the floor.

I think I heard about this one a while ago. It appears to already be on DVD.

Jenna Fischer's awesome in The Office.

Yeah, it came out on DVD like, a couple of weeks ago. I saw it at the local university's theater tonight. It never had a real run in theaters, probably due to the content. It was produced in 2004, but I'm putting it down as a 2006 release because it wasn't released until now.
