Silent Hill: $18 Million
The Sentinel: $14 Million
American Dreamz: $6 million
Silent Hill - the no-name cast and R-rating is a concern to me, even if it proves to be a good adaptation.
The Sentinel - a stellar cast probably won't make up for the lack of awareness with this film. $20 million would be great, but I just don't see it happening.
American Dreamz: If "From Justin To Kelly" bombed, this should see the same fate - Hugh Grant or not. I don't buy the argument that the AI crowd will be out in droves.

IMO, with it's older cast we've seen before, and another 'political thriller' plot, The Sentinel would have been better if it were released in 1987. Sorry, but we've seen this before. With the same actors too.

So Lee's predictions are way off because he thinks it's opening in over 2000...

Not feeling it for The Sentinel. But I'm almost always wrong on this genre and horror.
Oh crap. Now I feel even worse about this weekend.

American Dreamz still not being on moviefone is worrying me. At the start of the week I thought it could pull off like a $5500 PTA or so, but I'm not feeling it anymore.

Remember last year when xxx2 was supposed to open up the summer early, but then floundered miserably? That was one of my box office highlights last year.

Yeah, but this year Mission: Impossible 3 will open up the summer, as it is meant to be opened.

On the contrary, RV will be opening the summer. We ALL know that.

Final predictions
1. Silent Hill - 20.5 million ($7100 PTA)
2. The Sentinel - 15.2 million ($5400 PTA)
3. Scary Movie 4 - 15.1 million (-62.5%)
4. Ice Age 2 - 13.0 million (-35%)
5. Benchwarmers - 5.8 million (-41%)
6. The Wild - 5.8 million (-40%)
7. American Dreamz - 5.6 million ($3700)
8. Take the Lead - 4.1 million (-40%)
9. Inside Man - 3.8 million (-41%)
10. Friends With Money - 3.7 million ($3700 PTA)
11. Thank You for Smoking - 3.1 million (-30%)
12. Lucky Number Slevin - 2.9 million (-39%)
Silent Hill will have a cool $7100 PTA, around Amityville numbers.
Adult thrillers have raped my scores in the past like no other, but TODAY IS A NEW DAY. The Sentinel will do fine business.
American Dreams will kind've flop, though it could've been worse I guess.
Scary Movie 4 will drop HARD, I wanted to predict even lower than that. The Wild should do neither better no worse than Valiant.
Ice Age 2, The Benchwarmers will rebound nicely. Take the Lead will have a little improvement, though the theatre count will cut it's gain a bit. Lucky Number Slevin should fall the other way. Inside Man will go back to it's regular routine, hurt a bit by The Sentinel and theatres though.
Friends With Money will have an ok expansion, while Thank You For Smoking holds nicely due to WOM.
EDIT - Pussied out on The Sentinel. I just don't feel like going against the grain on another adult thriller, even if this one is overpredicting rather than under. I'll play it safe.

I remember both Emily Rose and Saw II being near 15m before opening weekend. WOTW was also reportedly tracking as well as Sith. I think RV will prove to be like Shaggy Dog.
