Absolutely hilarious film. Probably the Farrelly's best work. Some amazing performances from a cast including Bill Murray, Woody Harrelson, and Randy Quaid. Lin Shaye as Roy's Landlady gives a particularly memorable turn. The image of her reflection in Roy's rear view mirror is forever burned into my memory. Murray's ever-shifting combover is worth the viewing alone.

Pretty much every line-nay, every GESTURE- Bill Murray makes in this movie is funny. That's quite an accomplishment.

Did I also mention that the movie has a great soundtrack too? I like the use of English Beat, Blues Traveler and Frebbie Johnson songs. What makes it stand out among other comedies is the end result was bittersweet since Roy Munsen didnt win the tournament at all but what he did gain was inner strength and staying sober. Kingpin can be offensive and funny at times but it did balance it out with tender moments of hope

Best hairdos in movie history too like Makeshift said

Love this movie, dont know if you know, but Bill Murray didnt have a single line in the movie, it was all improvised by him. My favorite Farelly brothers film too.

A

First time I saw this film I laughed my F'n ass off. One, part of the film takes place in Scranton Pa, which I'm from. They played it off like a dump of a town and its not. Secondly,,the "Munson" which came to mean 'loser or fuck up' in the film. This was funny because I went to school with a kid who's last name was Munson and he was a loser sorry to say.

Flat out, KINGPIN gets an "A" for being probably the funniest comedy I've seen in quite some time.. Rarrely do I laugh out loud at Comedies, but this one was excellent and dare I say I actually vomited in my mouth when Woody Harrelson did the Old Lady to knock off some of his rent and literally looked like he was blowing chow in the toilet after he did her?? :puke: That scene still makes me quiver.. Also, Big Earl was the BEST and Bill Murray was top notch in this.. This was a true bowling fan's movie..

possibly the funniest movie of all time...

Ernie McCracken: It all comes down to this roll. Roy Munson, a man-child, with a dream to topple bowling giant Ernie McCracken. If he strikes, he's the 1979 Odor-Eaters Champion. He's got one foot in the frying pan and one in the pressure cooker. Believe me, as a bowler, I know that right about now, your bladder feels like an overstuffed vacuum cleaner bag and your butt is kinda like an about-to-explode bratwurst.
Roy: Hey. Do you mind? I wasn't talking when you were bowling.
Ernie McCracken: Was I talking out loud? Was I? Sorry. Good luck.

lol pure brilliance

I think that all of the Farrelly's movies have heart, but I agree with you that it is their finest, funniest movie.

5 out of 5.

As a big bowling fan, this movie was really good. Woody Harrelson is great, how he "lost" his hand makes me laugh. Bill Murray is funny as the cocky pro bowler. And of course then there's the Amish, which is great.

Grade: B+/A-
