Can't possibly be surprising that I'm the first to reply on THIS one.

I love this movie. Dean Stockwell was brilliant in it, and I'm glad he got an Oscar nomination (back when comedic roles were intelligent enough to warrant Oscar noms)... But I recently saw Fish Called Wanda, and I'm not terribly disappointed that Dean lost to Kevin Kline (I like Kevin, too).

This movie is really absurd to the point of hilarity. I miss movies like it and Wanda, the kind that are intelligent while being hilarious... Wish more comedies were like that today.

I give this an A-.

Crafting a mob comedy where all of the characters are likeable probably wasn't an easy task, but Demme pulled it off. Loved Pfeffier and Stockwell, as well as the crazy mafiosa wife.

Just a great comedy with a nice message. I wish they'd still make movies like this. A-

Yes, Mercedes Ruehl was HILARIOUS in this movie. So overpowering and rather over-the-top, and yet so utterly wonderful!
