Had a foreign film mini marathon today.
L'Enfant started out great but became very dark and depressing towards the end. Too dark, even for a film about a guy who sells his baby for extra cash.
Joyeux Noel joins the ranks of WWI films that I love. My only complaint is the dubbing for the songs, it's so clear Diane Kruger isn't singing. Took me out the film.

How was the acting? Really solid ensemble piece. The three couples were across the board very interesting but especially Catherine Keener's and Frances McDormand's family dynamics. Aniston for me was a distraction but her storyline binds the story so she's needed.
Simon McBurney who plays Frances' husband, Jason Isaacs who plays Catherine's husband, along with Scott Caan (great extended cameo), are the male standouts.
I wouldn't mind a best supporting actress nod for Frances.
