Front page is gone for every one. Should still have some carryover effect for this hour's update.

Greatly underpredicted Ice Age II and ATL and greatly overpredicted Slither and Basic Instinct 2.
Awesome.

I'm really disappointed that I didn't go with my gut on ATL and predict higher. I went with an a conservative $7.6 million, since tracking (at least from the MTC/RS tracking or whatever it is) was so low. I originally had it at $9.6 million very early in the week. Meh. My own fault.
PEACE, Mike.

Ice Age 2 could land anywhere between $15 and $20 million on Friday, but it is already guaranteed to top $50 million over the weekend.

I'm impressed that Ice Age II managed to maintain the A- all day.

Nice for Ice Age obviously.
Disappointing for Slither and Basic Instinct 2. Only the latter deserves its fate as BI was pretty darn awful and Slither was fun.

Well, as bad as our scores may seem, the derby average will be much much worse.
1 ICE AGE: THE MELTDOWN $52.4
3 BASIC INSTINCT 2 $9.5
4 SLITHER $9.2
5 ATL $7.9
Top 100 won't be too much of a stretch.

Ice Age: The Meltdown- 2732, +33, A-
Basic Instinct 2- 371, +3, C-
ATL- 1263, +8, B+
Slither- 428, +5, C+
For what should've been a night film, BI2 may not even get 20 reviews for the final 4 hours. Not good.

Yeah, one more. With about 230 reviews in the final 4 hours, Ice Age is probably not going to achieve $20m. More in the $17-19m range.

Hmm, still didn't change the time in the US? I suppose that's why.

I wonder why it's not simultaneously around the world. Well, actually I'm not, but it'd be good if it was, heh. So we're 10 hours ahead of PST now.
I should go sleep.

Well, it looks like I was right about BI2 beating expectations, and ATL falling shy of them.
Anyway, I'm thinking:
Ice Age 2 - 16.5m
ATL - 5.2m (my weekend prediction in one day. heh) - The most difficult of the 4 to make a projection for though.
Slither - 1.25m
Basic Instinct 2 - 0.8m - xiayun was certainly right about that ratio.

I laugh it that highly pessimistic Ice Age 2 projection

It was nice for once to look at an opening day number in shock (in a positive way).
I think that's the lowest ratio ever for a movie with a frontpage picture, the old one was National Treasure I believe. Certainly much lower then Robots. I'm not certain it was clogging this time since it had a few hours to make up for it without the frontpage.
