i just remembered that article/review on date movie and how often it isn't even a parody at all. It REFERENCES as many movies as it can and tries to pass it off as parody and that's about it.

I think many jokes in here are so pathetic they don't even ATTEMPT to be funny. They purposely reference as amny stereotypes as they can as a means to put certain groups down and not once do they actually even get close to passing off as comedy.

Maybe it's different for us because, unlike you, we're not worried about somebody taking one look at our posts and laying an entire blanket of bias over us. I know it'll happen to me, but at the end fo the day I don't really mind, because they can do that as much as I can say these jokes. But I'll save this whole entire rant on racism for another time, because it's somthing I've thought too much about and I don't really want to get into.

And, for the record, my best friend growing up was black, so it's not like I was raised to be some sort of racist.

every race joke is touchy to someone so why make restrictions on certian ones?

That is by far the most ironic thing I've ever read. Here you sit and condemning us for enjoying racist jokes and playing the stereotype card, as you prove yourself that you stereotype American southernors of being "redneck racists".

C'mon, I can understand your position in this situation, but it seems os backwards that I can't help but speak out against such backwards logic and hypocrisy.

That was to help set-up for a joke. Read my entire post :-P I honestly don't care if the joke is touchy. I'm not being forced to listen to/read it, even if it is a touchy subject for me personally.

It's not about bias and other peoples opinions of us, its about offending other people. Names and sterotypes are hurtful regardless of whom they are directed towards.

But in a sense i get what your saying. I have several gay friends and all of them are really open minded, so I can say things like "Yeah he was totally fagging out" and they know that I'm not being offensive because in personal context, "fagging out" becomes acceptable. I would never dare use such a term outside of my close gay friends because its only them who understand that I don't feel badly towards gay people, i am totally fine with all forms of sexuality and I understand that "faggot" is a horrifically unfair and quite disgusting term used towards gay people.

I have never directly used the word ever because I dont even find it acceptable on a personal context. But gay guys become liscened to use that because they have been abused with that term, they take it back and make it their own and wear it as a symbol of the social exclusion they have been subjected to. Just as black people can say the unspoken n word and that becomes acceptable because its a label that has been used to abuse them.

That said, it is very rare for any of those words or labels to ever be anything but offensive outside a very small group of people. Which is why it's not acceptable to be posting these jokes, as even though I am not in any of the races or nationalities being heckled, I do find it offensive.

I don't find racist jokes funny at all. Even on a personal context I have never ever even pretended to be entetained by racist jokes [and trust me, in scotland, its never ending] which might make for akward joke-bomb social situations, where suddenly im outside a group of people but I do not care. It offends me, It goes against what I believe to be acceptable and I refuse to go the easy route just so people can be pigheadedly racist. Every racist joke is backed by an undercurrent of racism. People who are truly not racist recognise these jokes to be contributing to the problem rather than helping them.

Yeah, I really fail to see the humor in a joke like that. I'm not even easily offended but a joke like that is in suuuuchhhhh poor taste.
