Yeah, I have to agree.
I'm interested to see if its Friday alone will be enough to win the weekend.

Wow. It's been a while since we've seen a movie with such a high number at this point in the day.

Ah, hoping on IA2 bandwagon eh? Easy now seeing Yahoo reviews.
Must compliment BJ on his, then outrageous, prediction that it might win weekend. Kudos BJ!

What are the expected ratios with the frontpage effect?

I'm by no means an expert on ratios, but I'd guess...
Ice Age 2 ~250 (50 higher than Robots due to sequel factor)
Slither ~ 250
Basic Instinct 2 ~ 400
ATL ~ 300

I don't see Ice Age's ratio being that high. The ratios overall have trended lower in recent weeks, and Yahoo is still behaving unevenly today, so I'd say 150.

I did forget to factor in the very good grade compared to Robots, so that would make me
lower my projection for Ice Age to around 200. Also, this plays more to a teen crowd than
Robots, and I'd expect some huge jumps this evening. It could get close to 3000 reviews.
With the unevenness of reviews at yahoo and the downward trend of ratios in mind, I'll lower
it just a tad more to 190. Final prediction, no more adjustments.

Ice Age: The Meltdown - 1672, +395, A-
Basic Instinct 2 - 254, +41, C-
ATL - 804, +200, B
Slither - 257, +54, C+
ATL looks good for a $4M day.

Ice Age: The Meltdown - 1759, +87, A-
Basic Instinct 2 - 268, +14, C-
ATL - 849, +45, B
Slither - 272, +15, C+
With that grade and the pace so far, Basic Instinct 2 is unlikely to hit $2M today. I'd say even $1.5m is in doubt.

I personally think the ratio is being grossly overestimated. It really doesn't appear to me that this is getting a slew of fake reviews or such. It should have a large ratio, but nothing is telling me it will be 400 like projected. Just my reaction, at least.
PEACE, Mike.

I think a C- grade, frontpage, R-rating, and small theater count pretty much gauranteed a 300 ratio. The grade is especially telling, because I don't think we have seen a low ratio with it being that bad.

I had a feeling I was underestimating ATL, but I went with $8M instead. It could open to nearly $12M now.
