Toy Story
Aaah. The greatness that is Toy Story. Classic tale of old toy being replaced by new. well ... not the toy part but we've all been in that position. oy Story to me was great because I was just happy to see Disney take on stories not done before. I mean Disney back then was on a high. great hits in the early 90s were mainly attributable to famous or obscure stories that has already existed. then came toy story. ofcourse, i knew little of Pixar back then.

The Emperor's New Groove
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
The charm of this movie lies in the fact that this movie never ever broke out. It's one of those that flies under the radar. You switch on a pixar film or something like beauty and the beast with high expectations. you really don't know what to expect with a film like this though. halfway through though, you hear yourself say "This is actually freaking good".
Emperor's new groove is the type of film that is extremely entertaining. its not out there to prove itself like many others and not aiming for an award or anything.

Emperor's New Groove so low? Curse you!
And Madagascar was a great film. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who sees it.

Toy Story 2 is #15? That discredits this thread! Toy Story 2 is, by far, better than the first Toy Story and better than Emperor's New Groove.

The Iron Giant
What a beautiful film this is. Features some of the best directing in a film, a very mature theme that could still appeal to children, an era flick, great voice acting and all around amazing animation. Iron Giant is one of the most underrated animations of all times.

Finding Nemo
I still remember the day I went to see Finding Nemo. the film had been out for weeks and 2 of my friends and i finally decided to see it. there were maybe 15 more people in the theater.
The other patrons weren't too happy abotu our presence though. Because my friend and i just couldn't stop laughing. We had just finished watching Memento a day before. Plus we were loving the turtle dude. and all the other fish in the tank. Great stuff. I was blown away by the animation and the sharks were excellent as well ...
sigh .. i'm a pixar whore.

Shrek
Shrek had the ending that i always wished Beauty and the Beast would have. Shrek is excellent for numerous reasons. after watching a decade of disney films telling us fairy tale stories and bringing them to life, Shrek came along and decided to make fun of all of them.and it did so without even breaking into a sweat. Shrek was a great character to begin with and the portrayal of various familiar characters such as the mirror on the wall, gingerbread man and others was nothing short of spectacular. A great ending to a film and one of the most memorable supporting characters, Shrek deserves all the recognition its ever received

The Little Mermaid
I've always had a soft spot for this film.
a) Our grade 6 play was based on this movie (with a tragic end sadly)
b) Ariel's hot!
c) Sebastian Rocked!!
I loved the music in this animated feature specially Under the Sea. Once again, there were a nice blend of characters in this movie and the plot twists were quite interesting. One of the best 2D features made by Disney in my opinion. Gone are the days sigh ...

Over the Hedge
I don't expect this film to enter many top 10 lists. But I loved it. This film is not about the animation, the life lessons learnt, the acting or anything. It's just downright absurd in the way its made, adorably cute and freaking funny. I could go on and on but its best that you just read my review for it.

Chicken Run
I refuse to believe that there are people out there in this world who do not find Chicken Run great. I just ... refuse to believe it. Not only does it feature some excellent claymation but has some of the best side characters ever! The problems faced by our chicken our dire but their solutions are too over the top to be ignored. One of the best films ever made in my opinion.

I was going to say your low ranking of W&G showed the lack of soul in this list, but your high ranking (And gushing) of Chicken Run almost makes up for it. Almost.

wallace isn't a bad film. i mean ... honestly .. outside of valiant, i dont consider any of the films to be 'bad'. even shark tale makes a good time pass.
problem i have with wallace is that its just too predictable. so i really couldn't enjoy it.

With the exception of Chicken Run (a film I disliked much more than Wallace and Gromit) and Shrek (entertaining enough, hardly a classic, sullied by a terrible sequel), not bad babaloo!
I love The Little Mermaid. It rounds out what I call the holy trinity of Disney 2D animation. That, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin are my three favourite animated films.
I suspect Aladdin will rank highly in your list... Either number one or number two. If I'm right can I have a cookie? Perhaps a diamond? Or better yet, some form of diamond cookie?

I disagree!
Something about Chicken Run just left me cold. I've not been able to sit through it more than twice.
I thought Wallace and Gromit was all right the first time I saw it. But a second viewing made me appreciate it even more. It wouldn't make my top twenty, but I certainly prefer it to Chicken Run.

By process of elimination I'm pretty sure I know the top 6, hmm.
And Chicken Run was alright, but not amazing or anything. Probably not in my top 20.

i'd love to know what you think are the top 6
also snrub. give chicken run a chance again. its one of those movies that became better and better with time.
regarding shrek .. its one of those films that i liked cause i always hated the concept of beauty and the beast and the fact that the environment i first saw it in was absolutely superb.

[spoil]Aladdin
The Lion King
Cars
The Incredibles
Spirited Away
Beauty and the Beast
Only one I'm not really sure of is Spirited Away. When I made that statement I was actually thinking Shrek 2 hadn't came up yet, but then I realized you already had it. If it's not that, I'd say something old like Snow White or Sleeping Beauty or something.

I've tried to watch it again, but I invariably wind up losing interest. It's not a case of giving it another chance, everytime I try the damn thing sends me to sleep!
