A drop in the Ocean? ... Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in Mr and Mrs Smith
They burned up the screen in Mr and Mrs Smith and now Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie could be set to play opposite each other in Ocean's Thirteen.
According to reports circulating in Hollywood Pitt is apparently trying to persuade his real-life lover Jolie to join him and friend George Clooney in the upcoming heist caper.
Julia Roberts and Catherine Zeta-Jones adorned the previous two instalments which, like the next project, were directed by Stephen Soderbergh.
However with neither actor set to return to the series the coast is clear for a new leading lady to keep Clooney's on-screen character Danny Ocean and his motley crew of crooks on their toes.
Matt Damon, Elliott Gould and Andy Garcia are preparing to reprise their roles when the 2007 shoot gets underway, alongside Bernie Mac, Casey Affleck and Scott Caan.
Jolie's presence would be a huge boon to the film-makers as they seek to turn Ocean's exploits into a franchise that could feasibly run to more than three episodes.
The first two pictures have sold close to $800m (£457m) in tickets around the world.
Pitt will next be seen opposite Cate Blanchett in Mexican auteur Alejandro Gonzales Inarritu's torrid drama Babel, which is widely tipped to play in competition at Cannes next month.
Jolie recently wrapped production on Robert De Niro's thriller The Good Shepherd opposite none other than Matt Damon.

Ok. My 15 tickets are sold if she takes this.
