Slevin looks to involve mob based on commercials. They don't do too well anymore. And it looks retarded. Phat Girlz won't totally bomb. Benchwarmers will take the opener crown. Take the Lead will do well also.

It really bothers me that Benchwarmers is going to do 3x better than Slevin. It really does.

Everyone's still underpredicting Tak the Lead. I was in the four block (no kidding) line for the advanced screening on Tuesday. I didn't get in cause the theatre got full. People waited three and a half hours in advance. Its the longest line I've seen outside of the HP3 screening I once went. Its making well north of 20 million this weekend.

I'm turning my position around on Ice Age 2. Its weekday holds have been disappointing. Two years ago Scooby-Doo 2 increased 181.4% on its second Friday after an 81.4% Monday drop around the same time. The first Ice Age increased 200% during spring break time. This is also a concentrated spring break week for some schools, so I don't see a Friday increase of much higher than 200%, if at all, then it will need a 4.0 multiplier for a $40m weekend. I see it fall short of that.

Final predictions
Ice Age 2 - 40.8 million(-40.3%)
The Benchwarmers - 14.9 million($4550 PTA)
Take the Lead - 13.2 million($4400 PTA)
Inside Man - 8.7 million(-43.5%)
ATL - 5.9 million(-49%)
Lucky Number Slevin - 4.7 million($2600 PTA)
Failure to Launch - 4.0(-37.5%)
V for Vendetta - 2.9 million(-54%)
Phat Girlz - 2.9 million($2750 PTA)
She's the Man - 2.7 million(-38%)
Openers: Benchwarmers, yeah I'm conforming to you guys. Not completley, but the buzz is strong enough to give it solid numbers. Take the Lead is on moviefone now, so I have a little faith though not a great amount. Lucky Number Slevin looks like a bomb, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang wasn't very well received and this most likely won't be either. Phat Girlz is the one I'm worried about. Not only is it small as hell, but if I wasn't a member here I would have 0 knowledge that it existed. Part of me thinks it's being pumped on the urban channels, but even they can reject films a la Block Party.
I can't believe the drops you guys are giving Vendetta. I wouldn't have it at any less than dropping 48% in a regular situation, and it's actually losing 900 theatres this time.
The rest...standard. I'm feeling a bit more grippy on the situation now, before I was losing my head. This making my predictions early, then checking them later thing, is working well so far. I like it.

Ice Age 2 - 37.9
Benchwarmers - 16.4
Take the Lead - 12.7
Inside Man - 9.5
Slevin - 5.0
ATL - 5.0
Failure to Launch - 4.2
V - 3.3
She's the Man - 2.7
Phat Girlz - 1.6
Tough week. I want to go higher on Slevin, but the ads are all over the place recently, and most of them don't work. Phat Girlz could tank completely which is why I went as low as I did.

1. Ice Age: The Meltdown – 38.5
2. Take the Lead – 16.5
3. The Benchwarmers – 13.5
4. Inside Man – 9.5
5. Luck Number Slevin – 7.0
6. ATL – 5.0
7. Failure to Launch – 4.0
8. V for Vendetta – 3.2
9. Phat Girlz – 2.4
10. She’s the Man – 2.4
Changed my position on The Benchwarmers since I rememberd Fever Pitch was quite consistent on moviefone pre-release as well. Increased my prediction on Slevin since I started feeling a little more positive about it.

Maybe it's just me, but I have more doubts about where Slevin will end up then any movie in a while.

My Derby Predictions
1. Ice Age: The Meltdown - 38.8
2. Take the Lead - 16.5
3. The Benchwarmers - 15.7
4. Inside Man - 9.9
5. Lucky Number Slevin - 6.6
6. ATL - 6.0
7. Phat Girlz - 5.7
8. Failure to Launch - 4.1
9 . V for Vendetta - 3.2
10. She's the Man - 2.6
Take the Lead could break bigger but I'll go with 16.5 for the derby while Phat Girlz could go lower but I feel confident about it's chances. I Dickie Roberts can open to 6.0 million than The Benchwarmers with it's larger star power and better release date can hit the mid-teens. 16 Blocks opened to 11.9 on nearly a thousand more screens and this has less Bruce in it, and has as awful title.

The money lines however point to lower for both Slevin and TTL (-140/+110).

My reasoning: If Kicking And Screaming could pull a PTA around 550 in over 3400 theaters, so can Benchwarmers
