Screen Counts and Crowd Reports (April 7-9)
New
The Benchwarmers - 1 screen (6 showings)
Lucky Number Slevin - 1 screen (5 showings)
Take the Lead - 1 screen (5 showings)
Holdovers
ATL - 1 screen (5 showings)
Failure to Launch - 1 screen (5 showings)
Ice Age: The Meltdown - 1 screen (5 showings)
Inside Man - 1 screen (5 showings)
The Shaggy Dog / Slither - 1 screen (3 showings, 2 showings)
She's the Man / V for Vendetta - 1 screen (3 showings, 2 showings)
Stay Alive - 1 screen (5 showings)
I'm surprised that The Benchwarmers got 6 showings, considering that it's apparently 120 minutes long, according to MovieTickets.com (which is about 30 minutes too long for this type of comedy).

Pretty sure's that incorrect, I think I read on Film Jerk it's only 80 minutes.

I can't believe When Do We Eat is already opening in non-NY/LA theatres... I have a feeling you'll have some empty seats. The movie is godawful (no pun intended)

Actually, my theater, even though it's in orange county, is considered an LA market.

Same here, Big mama's house, DOMBW, Medeas Family, Get Rich, Hustle and Flow, and ATL all do great bussiness here so it isnt suprising that the theater i go to gave it 2 screens.

So Slevin is right on the number at 1,700?
Full Counts.
With The Wild's theater count estimated at 2,700, I don't see it breaking $20M.

I've been saying for ages that I thought Ice Age 2's third weekend could handily beat The Wild's. The voice cast is very mediocre, the marketing hasn't been strong, and all the kids I know say it looks like "a ripoff of Madagascar". This should be the film that proves that not all CGI films like it are guaranteed hits.

I doubt The Wild will open much higher that $16-17m. Ice Age should still be doing $20m+ by then.
