Hopkins and Rock do not make the best buddy duo, but they do have enough chemistry to make the film work.

What a huge missed opportunity. This was one of my most anticipated films the year it came out and it turned out to be one of Bruckheimer's most disappointing efforts. Anthony Hopkins is a great actor and I find Chris Rock to be really funny at times. I thought that pairing them up was quite a cool idea. Sadly, in fact they lacked some chemistry. They did well on their own in the film, but never well as a buddy pairing. The action scenes are okay, but there are too few of good ones in the movie. It should have aimed for the R-rating, maybe it would have worked better for the action and the humor. Hopkins is as good as ever and the film is fairly entertaining overall, but this is still a huge missed opportunity in my eyes.
