Well, it does get a lot better, if that helps any.

Well, I hope so. So far, as I said, it is just decent enough for me to keep watching, but a bit formulaic and the secondary characters suffer under the typical high school-clichés. Bell is good, though and most of the dialogue is good (except for when it seems too artificial)

How far along into it are you? The pilot was far from the best episode, at least on first viewing. Once you're completely hooked, it improves vastly.

First three episodes so far.

I think I managed to get through the first 5 before I had to watch the rest without any breaks, so I guess the 6th did it for me.

I remember watching the show last summer, and I ended up taping a bunch of episodes and not watching them for a while. Finally, I started watching them, and couldn't stop. So... I guess the first few episodes aren't as great as the show eventually becomes. Try and hang in there.
Although, I have a feeling Lecter might not like it any more than he does now...

This was a really good episode. First of all, it had Maeby and George Michael. No more having to deal with Laguna Beach girl as a special guest star. The only thing I didn't like was how the rape was left sort of unresolved. Though from what something Rob Thomas said, [spoil]it looks like that's going to be dealt with next season. He said in a bloggers online conference this week that if you pay attention to epi 16, you'll have an inkling as to what next season is about.[/spoil]
On the subject of Rob Thomas, he threw out the idea of having 3 big mysteries a season, that span 7, 7 and 8 episodes respectively. There's a poll about it to see what the viewers think of it. (I know the poll is on a personal Livejournal, but that's Sunil's Livejournal. He's like best friends with Rob.)

Just finished the 5th episode of the first season and it was the first really good one, IMO, the one that actually got me really interested. Hopefully, this will keep up.

Yeah, I really really enjoyed this episode. It's nice to see my three favorite shows (24, VM, Lost) have three great episodes this week.
About the 3 mysteries a season, I don't really like that idea at all. If they can't make it one mystery per season, then why not 2? Three just seems a little... much. I expect better from VM and from the brilliant Rob Thomas. I hope that's not someone's way of trying to attract more viewers to the show.
But... on that subject... does that mean a third season is highly likely? I wouldn't be talking about Season 3 unless there was a solid chance it was going to happen. I hope it does, at least.

Rob seems 100% confident that there's a third season. He was talking about how they already have a lot of it planned out, and how they're interviewing writers for next season. He also mentioned pitching some things to Dawn Ostroff and how she loved it.
I think the 3 is bec that way they can have each mystery go straight through without hiatus. I'm not a fan of the idea, personally. It seems too risky. There would be no focus to the season. I want to trust Rob to be able to make it work, but I would be very nervous.

Well, I trust him... but what about three little mysteries, and one big mystery?
... I don't know. I've been doubting "24" since the first season, and they seem to continue getting better every season, so... anything is possible.
At this point, I'm just hoping for a 3rd season.

I just finished the 9th episode of the first season. Still liking it enough to keep watching, yet waiting for the big *bang".

8 and 9 were the two episodes I don't really watch over and over again. (Also 16.) But 10 is one of the absolute best.

The 10th and 11th episodes were excellent, the best so far.

Just so you know, 10 and 11 were switched around, so that 10 could be shown around Christmas. So if you wondered why the stuff about Logan's dad and such is just forgotten for an episode, that's why.

I rented the first disc of the first season from Netflix, and I liked it so much that I actually went out and spent $50 on the dvd today. I'm about to go watch it now as a matter of fact .

Well, Rob Thomas said that he thinks this was the best episode this season, and I think he's right. Of course, my little shipper heart may be the one talking. Sigh. So good.

I know I should have really liked this episode, but my thoughts keep on turning to Mac and Beaver, then I'm sad. But still happy that I chose this over Lost.
