I know! Such a great film! My #1 of 2004! A real gem with amazing directing, performances, cinematography, music, etc...
Just now:
THREE EXTREMES - 6/10 (B-)
The first story was good but gross. The second was really good and should be remade into an American feature-length film. The last one sucked and was too odd and pointless to care. The ending of it was kind of neat though, but overall it really drags down THREE EXTREMES on a whole. I'd give the first story something like a 7/10 (B-), the second an 8/10 (B+), and the last something like a 3/10 (D).

Mercury Rising - B (for the second time)
I don't know why this movie received low attention and low reaction. Almost everyone did their jobs well-done, including Bruce Willis, with an exception to "good" Alec Baldwin who overacts as a bad guy.
Scream - B- (after several times of watching it); nuff said

Scream- A+- Loved it then, love it now.
Hustle and Flow- B+- Love Anthony Anderson and Terence Howard is just amazing.
Crash- A- Very much loved this film. I love Don Cheadle and Terence Howard again is just amazing.

San Francisco (1936)- C
Grandfather of the disaster flick, the movie is nonetheless dramatically turgid until those last 15 minutes, when the Earthquake hits. Save the climax, it's one of the more tedious hits to emerge from the old MGM factory. All the stars do exactly what we expect: Clark Gable squints, barks, and won't tell anyone how he feels; Jeanette MacDonald sings; Spencer Tracy administers sage, Catholic advice. A disappointment. The effects are incredible, though, for 1936.
Prizzi's Honor- A
Hilarious, and a personal favorite of mine. Dark as the night. The movie has undeservingly fallen out of favor lately. After I saw this, I was never really able to take a mob film seriously again. A gem. (Out of Africa was better than this, Academy? Really?)
Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?- C+
Well-made, brilliantly acted (especialy from Richard Burton!), the movie is nevertheless overlong and exhausting. Nice Black and White cinematography.

CRASH - 6/10 (B-)
After watching this for the fifth or sixth time, I still have the same problems with the film. It's way too manipulitive and mainstream for me. Don't get me wrong, I love mainstream films as much as the next person but CRASH stays too safe for it's own good. It never fully explores the topics of racism in the United States. They use tricks to make you feel for the people (thinking the child got shot, having Sandra fall down the stairs, etc). Through the whole movie it's sort of like "okay, so what's going to happen to this character now?" It gets really tiresome. The best performance comes from Thandie Newton, who is extremely underrated here. She's one of the only characters I liked, honestly. Basically all the other performances are extremely overrated, especially Matt Dillon, who was undeservingly nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Oscars. The first hour or so of the movie is good. The second Matt Dillon rescues Thandie Newton's character, the movie just drops and gets uninteresting, preachy and manipulitive. Another thing I don't like is the whole "steal from the rich white folks but don't steal from black people because they go through the same shit as you do." Can that get anymore pathetic? No, this shouldn't have won Best Picture at the Oscars. Yes, it's an alright movie with a couple performances. YES, it is very overrated. There are just so many god damn problems with this movie it's hard to count. It's just not an important movie, though it tries to be.

funny. I don't really like Sarah Jessica Parker though so I would've liked it better if she was not in it.
