Right now, I think that The Hills Have Eyes will be #1 on Friday, but The Shaggy Dog may win the weekend. Then again, I also wouldn't be surprised if the latter dissapointed with just under 20 million...

I hope those grades improve for TSD and FTL. I would hate to see another weak weekend.

The Shaggy Dog - 196, +10, C
Failure to Launch - 248, +23, C
The Hills Have Eyes - 301, +18, B-
The Libertine - 836, 79 Friday, +1, B
The numbers don't look all that great. The Hills Have Eyes seems to have trouble hitting $5 million. I'd give The Libertine a lower ratio than what David predicted since it was first released four months ago and people have been able to review it ever since. Still $1m is most definitely out of reach. And I'd only give $4m to Failure to Launch and $5m to The Shaggy Dog.

I really hope you're underestimating because that's pretty terrible for every new release. I expected the Hills Have Eyes to get at least 7 million opening day.

Guys, I'm having a hard time seeing Failure to Launch with any less than $6-7M today. It was doing great at my theater, comparable to what other $20M+ openers have done here.

Yes, it should reach 500 reviews, and I think the ratio will be under 100. The improving grade is a good sign. I don't see why it couldn't reach 6m.
I'm worried about The Shaggy Dog a bit more. It might reach 5m, but it should be below expectations.

Even if Shaggy Dog does $4-5 today, it is still increasing like 75%+ tomorrow....

But it's certainly not going to reach 25m, or the 30m many were predicting.

Yeah - Shaggy dog seems dissapointing. It would need about $7m to reach expectations.

How 'bout Hills? It performed at my theater like a $20 million opener, but Yahoo says otherwise, and the theater count is kinda low. I still think it could do around $18-19 million this weekend.

Wow, Hills is incredibly backloaded with no front page.

That's pathetic for Shaggy Dog; I don't think it will hit 4m. I think FTL and THHE will both be near 6m.

It's now been 3 weeks in a row without the movies on the frontpage. Should lower the ratios a bit again.
My projections:
Shaggy Dog - I guess I'll still give it a ratio of 80, although the grade would suggest something worse. 3.85m would be really low for this as it is.
Failure to Launch - I'll guess 5.9m. Movies like this, such as Hitch, can have low ratios, I gave it 77.
The Hills Have Eyes - The review total for this one was most affected by the lack of the frontpage at night. The backloaded trend should lower the ratio as it means more reviews will be posted tommorow from people to see it tonight. I'll give it a ratio just over 100 for 6.3m.
The Libertine - I find this one a bit tough to predict. The theater count and low level of buzz would make me expect a high ratio, but the fact that you already had 757 reviews could take away that effect. I guess I'll go with a ratio of about 155 for 1m. That could be off though; 0.7m or 1.3m wouldn't surprise me.
