Post CBS Renews Everything
CBS Renews 14 Shows

Seriously, it seems like their entire schedule. From their freshman line-up, CBS has picked up "Criminal Minds", "Ghost Whisperer", and "How I Met Your Mother". From their returning shows, they've picked up "CSI", "CSI: NY", "CSI: Miami", "NCIS", "Two and a Half Men", "60 Minutes", "The Amazing Race", "Survivor", "Without a Trace", "Numb3rs", and "Cold Case".

This leaves the uncertain fates of "King of Queens", "Courting Alex", "Out of Practice", "Still Standing", and "Close to Home".

"Yes, Dear" is dead and buried.

"The Unit" and "Old Christine" have yet to premiere, but unless they're top 10 hits, CBS will probably pass.

I think Courting Alex will survive. Out of Practice and Still Standing, not so much thankfully.

"Close to Home" is all but guaranteed.

Anyone want to take a guess on whether or not "The Unit" or "Old Christine" will be successful?

Courting Alex and Close To Home are both probably going to be renewed for next season. I am shocked Close To Home was not renewed as part of this 14-show renewal. Its ratings are as good as Ghost Whisperer and Numb3rs on Fridays.

Why wouldn't they keep Out of Practice? It was doing great...

Close to Home is a surefire renewal and Courting Alex looks safe. I can't believe they wouldn't renew The King of Queens for at least one more season.

Well, the official fall schedules won't be unveiled until May, and some shows won't know their fates until then. I expect "Out of Practice" and "Courting Alex" to get the 2006-2007 renewals, like "Still Standing" and "Yes, Dear" last year, and "Becker" the year before.

I figured King of Queens might be ending on its own, since it is in its 8th season. But, if it's up for renewal, I can see CBS looking to give it one more season to help build another comedy (like "How I Met Your Mother" this season).

Actually it took so long that a higher power would have done this years ago.

Wondering if the CBS execs were catering to the women with babies for this horrible show.

The Higher Power had more pressign matters then Yes Dear, but its turn to burn in hell finally came 'round, thankfully.

Families apparently loved this show, I don't know how...nothing about it was funny. I've never seen anyoen laugh at the show.

Especially compared to How I Met Your Mother. It's like CBS almost wanted Out of Practice to bomb--and now even though it hasn't--they've still tried to treat it like it has.

Seriously, can we all agree that "The New Adventures of Old Christine" is the worst name for a tv show ever. I wouldn't be surprised if it bombs just because of that. The Seinfield curse is still rampid.

I read that Old Christine (the original title) didn't test well or something.

If Two and a Half Men can give something as terrible as Courting Alex decent ratings, this should be able to do well too.

Dont know about that, its not like Juliette Lewis Dreyfus is actual eye candy. I notice sitcoms combined with unattractive actresses plus the comedy being unfunny too would tend to get cancelled the fastest(Bette Midler, Wanda Sykes, and Margerat Cho) while they kept unfunny comedies for longer than their usual timespan around (Caroline in the City, Cybil, Suddenly Snoozin)

Seriously, Two and Half men is funnier, then we get the crapt hat is Courting Alex, ugh, the commericals for it irritating and the show is even worse. Put Jenna Elfman out of her misery.

Yay, someone else who likes Two and a Half Men. It's one of the only good traditional sitcoms left.

And, yes, Courting Alex sucks. Jenna Elfman drives me up the wall anyway.

Charlie Sheen is really funny, he works so well with Jon Cryer and the kid is hysterical. i just started watching the show its great.

Yes, I know the commericals for the show were supposed to be ironic and ufnny with her in bikini, but thye were just grating, and I tried to watch the first episode. It was almost as bad as Yes, Dear.
