I think Lynn will be gone. He'll go from villain to hero when he crawls out to help Jack and dies in the process. If we're going to guess, lets make it interesting.

OMG, what a great two episodes, I couldnt believe who they killed off, that was nuts, Did anyone else keep thinking of Spock in Wrath of Kahn, just not as well executed.

it was already in the ventilation system. And Edgar would have needed keys to open the cabinet marked gas masks. You just don't leave those laying around.

He was in holding, so did he die? I mean, he wasn't in a place that was locked down. ALthough i figure, if i died they'd probably show smtn of it....so i guess Death just let him off this time.

[spoil]I doubt Tony will go, as he just woke up, and they're not going to kill off one of the top characters of the series just two episodes after he returns. After the deaths of Palmer and Michelle, I don't think Tony's going anywhere. He has to get his revenge first.

Along that line, it might be Henderson who dies at the hand of Tony. That would be why Jack is pissed off - he needs the info from Henderson - and it makes sense, since Tony and Henderson are both shut up in the hospital wing. But I'm still sticking with Lynn dying, and it could be that Tony or Henderson just gets shot or something but doesn't die.[/spoil]

Poor Edgar. That was hard to watch. I'll go right ahead and admit it. When everyone was staring out at the helpless Edgar, I had a tear or two in my eye.

What did he say when he wandered off from his station and asked Chloe to cover for him? I couldn't make out his mumbled words at the time and was thinking "Uhh this is not the time to go wandering off in the middle of a crisis."

He wanted to see where Carrie (the chick that got stabbed by the terrorist) went.

Part of me feels like it was Edgar's fault he died. Chloe told him to get out of the building, and he comes wandering back to the control room? Not smart. Though the way it was filmed made it very emotional.

and just to be clear, it's not the death of major characters that makes 24 great to me (Teri, Mason, Chappelle, Nina, Palmer, Michelle). It's how these deaths are handled, and moreso, how they figure into the overall story.

I agree... the deaths are actually conceived/written with the intent that it will serve a purpose to the story. I believe the only character to be killed off because of contract conflicts is Shohreh Aghdashloo's Dina Araz, since she has a whole slate of Fox films in the works while taping 24. Though everyone (even producers) want her to return.

I re-watched the final few minutes a few times, and those final few minutes are some intense television. What kind of bothers me is that "24" is going to be overshadowed at the Emmys by "The Sopranos" and "Lost". I'm not mad about it, but "24" has really stepped it up this year, especially in the last two or three episodes.
