It's a shame The Pianist didn't win. I bet it came very close to beating Chicago.

That ceremony was so much fun. Polanski, Harwood and Brody all snagged surprise trophies. Best Picture was a tense moment, which didn't look plausible just an hour earlier, when Chicago grabbed trophies left and right.

Too bad The Pianist is such an underwhelming movie. :lol:

Wow.. I guess I'm not alone in here with my opinion of this one.. It's decent, and Brody does a good job, but it's way too... academic to be the masterpiece that I was expecting.. :smile:

Maybe I'm becoming too desensitized towards these kind of pictures... or maybe all of these Holocaust pictures are becoming more and more baitish for the Academy..
