I might get killed for this, but I think Escape From L.A. is more fun.

My Favorite Wife- C/C+

Fun, promising set-up (Wife returns after being lost at sea for 7 years, finds husband remarried) is marred by weak, transparent plotting, resulting in a screwball comedy that is no more than fitfully amusing. Cary Grant and Irene Dunne are as good as you'd expect, but this is a pretty disappointing film.

All That Jazz- A

Bob Fosse's Fellini-esque potrait of his own life and death is one of the most self-indulgent films I've ever seen, resting right on the line between brilliance and failure for all of it's 2 hour running time. The result? I'm going to side with brilliant, for now.

Man, do I hate Escape from New York. I'd rather watch LA (Not that I want to watch LA!).

A great film, and the only existing justification for ever putting Richard Attenborough behind a camera. But man, is it ever justified.

Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers (Producer's Cut)
B+

Much, much, much better than the drek that was unleashed upon audiences in September '95. There's great mythology here with an incredibly well-executed final chase scene.

KEEP YOUR DISTANCE - 7/10 (B-)

It's nothing new but if you like Jennifer Westfeldt (Kissing Jessica Stein) then it's definitely worth seeing (or if you like girl-on-girl action and boobs ). I adore her and she's the main reason I rented it right away on Tuesday. She was really good and adorable here. She was also pretty much the main star and was in the movie the most. My only real complaint has to do with the DVD. It doesn't have subtitles for one, but worst of all it's in fullscreen and the credits in the beginning have words cut off, not to mention things are cut out of the picture in some scenes. Like in one when the guy is talking you only see a bit of his body because it's cut off. I think they should have used the alternate ending too, which adds some stuff. And I liked the deleted scene where Melody (Westfeldt) picked up the turtle from the road and put it in the grass. It made her seem even more sweet and it would have went well with later in the movie where she mentions that she loves animals yet doesn't have any pets.

Anyway, I hope Jennifer shows up in some bigger movies soon. I love her! She's too cute!

The Descent- A-

My GOD!!!, there cannot be a more stressful movie than this one, seriously. The suspence is BRILLIANT!!, its very creepy and you jump quite a lot. i think the horror fan will definitely enjoy this one. VERY VERY recomended.

there were a few ridiculous/stupid scenes, like when an average person becomes the hero for a minute or when they fight very cool all of a sudden...yeah...
The ending is not for everyone, i felt a little "meh" about it, but still great!

oooh! and theres plenty of gore  thats always good

A Different World: Season 1 - All over the place ranging from A-F.

Cosby Show fans may find the info below useful. Not for anyone else really.

-----------------------------------

Known originally as a spinoff to The Cosby Show focusing on the character of Denise. The show would have a major overhall the following year with the departure of Lisa Bonet who would return to The Cosby Show itself.

All over the place (ranging from A- to F), but some memorable episodes for Cosby Show fans. Rudy and the Snow Queen stands out. The episode with Whitley and the wheelchair comments (she couldn't find one to park up close for shopping) was so heartless, but hilarious. Whitley is overshadowed by other characters, but I believe becomes a more focused character later on. Love her or hate her, she stands out more than any other female on the show.

Overall though not a good show, but some strong episodes. Mostly forgettable episodes. Three or so very good ones.

The retrospective was interesting. The character of Denise left the show season 1 due to her involvement with Lenny Kravits and her pregnancy. Cosby originally proposed her pregnancy be written into the show. She left and instead would return to the Cosby Show in a limited role it's 5th season while being shipped off to Africa.

*Angel Heart* was not the reason for her departure from A Different World. She was fired from The Cosby Show in 1987 due to her nude scenes in that movie. A Different World was setup for her by Cosby because of her firing from The Cosby Show due to it's soupy nature.

The show I believe (A Different World) gets stronger in the next few years before ultimately sinking to oblivian in it's final season. I wouldn't know. I only saw a couple episodes during the original run.

C- overall with A-/B+ for the several standout episodes.

The Eye (2002) - C+

Asians suck at making horror films, this is one of the better ones. I hope the American version coming out later this year with Renee Zellweger is better.

Fear of Clowns (2004)

Just released on DVD this week.

What the hell did I just watch? Was this for real?

I expected a creepy clown on a rampage just like the good old days. At least this is what the box insinuates. I was looking forward to this one for awhile. I wanted something creepy. I have been dying for something creepy. What do I end up with?

Some bobybuilder running around shirtless the whole movie wearing clown paint. Ok body and all for our girls and gay friends, but the abs could use some work. Seriously though, what was this?

This movie seems like it was made by a bunch of drunkards on a Saturday night whim. It just doesn't even seem like a movie. It seemed like a home movie that you would see a group of friends make.

The acting is atroucious from most and the movie is incredibly cheesy. I am so annoyed with cheesy lately.

I needed a break from things, so I stayed home by myself this weekend. Was really looking forward to it to catch up on movies, games, etc. But, this movie was an utter waste of time and wasted some of my time.

Not recommended unless your are stoned or want to see experience a mental journey in torture.

Very disappointing. Kind of ticks me off because I was expecting something so different. The cover, sypnosis, etc., is just one big scam.

I am so glad I did not purchase this movie. I would have had to sell it to an unsuspecting victim.

Grade of F
