 Independent Spirit Awards
They're on tonight, 5 p.m. EST on IFC. And if you miss that or don't have IFC, they'll be rebroadcasting on AMC at 10 p.m. EST/PST on AMC.
I'll be watching. They're fun sometimes.

Lasy year's musical tribute to Kinsey was brilliant.
Sarah Silverman is hosting. Gonna be a good time.

I love Amy Adams, but I hate that movie and I didn't think her performance was as earth-shattering as everyone else apparently.

Yeah, I don't get the love for her work in Junebug.

I wonder if the "indie vote" is splitting Michelle Williams/Amy Adams vote and that's allowing Rachel Weisz to win. I dunno. Thinking aloud.

Junebug is in C range for me as well, but Amy Adams' performance does grab attentions, like the clip they chose to use during the presentation. It's easy to think that as scene-stealing.

I'm sure they will play the hospital scene during the Academy Awards.

I've only seen the first hour of Junebug, but I kind've agree. I was expecting like the "OMG BEST PERFORMANCE EVARRR" feeling, but it never came. Anne Hathaway was better than her.

Transamerica, really? Felicity is more than a lock now... (for this, of course)

I guess she was the best thing about Junebug but that isn't saying much.

Question: If an indie movie like Our Very Own was made this year, but it's only been playing in festivals and it hasn't been distributed yet, would it still be eligible for all the 2006 award season? I know Crash was playing in some festivals circa 2004.

I don't know who votes for ISA and if the voting body is in anyway overlapping with the academy or if it's decided by a committee, but Amy Adams winning here pretty confirms to me that Rachel will win the Oscar.
