So, how's $25M 4-day looking for Date Movie?

Rated R, rated R, rated R, aaaaand... rated R.
A better example would be a PG-13 comedy, like The Longest Yard (119.48), The Dukes of Hazzard (248.16, but with front page all day), etc.

I think it was less the R in all those cases, and more that they were niche comedies. It's not like Wedding Crashers, 40 Year Old Virgin, or American Wedding had high ratios; quite the opposite (and of those 40YOV was probably the most niche, and had the highest ratio). Maybe we can settle on Envy.

I doubt the ratio will be 300 but it should be around 210-220. Again the movie is pretty big on the internet, it's been on Moviefone all week and #1 for most of it.

The Dukes of Hazzard was huge on the internet, just like most are claiming Date Movie to be. And, Dukes had the front page all day, increasing the ratio. I see no reason why Date Movie will be higher than 200.

Wont be lower then 200, thats for sure, okay i'll give it 180 as the lowest ratio it could get.

Expect massive increase the next update, especially for Date Movie. It should have a chance at 1,300 by the end of the night.

Yeah, Date has a picture on the front page plus text link and the other two have a text link.

Hmm, fewer than I thought given that the back-loaded pattern appeared to show it's more of a night movie.

my theater was dead the 9~10 o'clock set because Texans freak out when there's even a freezing rain advisory. It's still frikkin' 40 degrees outside. No need to panic gosh! I was let home an hour early. Eight Below was strong all day, while Date Movie only had two strong evening shows, so I'd say Eight Below will win the weekend, but I don't think Date Movie will be too far behind. And also, Firewall beat Freedomland in attendance at my theater, not by much, but that still says something, cause holdovers usually die at my theater. Sorry I haven't done any big crowd reports past few months, I've been too tired from two jobs and all

Thanks JMorphin.
You must be getting the end of the cold front we have here. It's freaking cold outside here. -8 degrees outside, but with windchill -19. I can't remember the last time it felt as cold as it did today.

I think $7-8 million for Date Movie, $4-5 million for Eight Below, and a little less than $2 million for Freedomland.

Man, I hate myself for bumping Freedomland up at the last second. It's gonna kill me big time now.

Magnus101 wrote: Zingaling wrote: I think $7-8 million for Date Movie, $4-5 million for Eight Below, and a little less than $2 million for Freedomland. Yeah, I see the same. And my early 4-day projections are DM: 24.5m - 28m Eight Below: 18.5m - 23.5m Freedomland - 7m-8m Eight Below I don't think will win the weekend unless Friday numbers are much higher and DM are lower.
There's no way Date Movie could get up to $28M 4-Day with only a $7-8M Friday, imo. It's far too frontloaded and teen-skewed for that.

So much for the 250-300 ratio.
It was 195.
