New #1 movie of the year. I can safely say, I was not expecting this. It really knocked me out, it was absolutely brilliant stuff. I don't know if I'll call it "Instant classic" yet, but it was damn close.

And Capote dropped off the list completley. Why? Because after one fucking night, I forgot every single thing about it. I'm struggling right now to remember in my mind at all. Most forgettable movie experiance of the year.

6. Stay
7. Brokeback Mountain
8. Grizzly Man
9. Me and You and Everyone We Know

Remixed. Seeing Munich for a second time shot it right back up to where it belongs. How does this NOT win Best Picture?
And, i've watched Grizzly Man several times now. It's still great, but it does lose some of it's emotional whallop.

The Devil's Rejects ahead of Munich makes me sad : (
Funnily enough those are the only two movies from your Top 10 that I have seen so far (due to release dates), but I remember last year we liked quite an amount of same movies (Eternal Sunshine, Closer etc.). Stay comes out here in two weks and I am quite excited to check it out.

Yeah, we generally have pretty similar tastes.
I think you'll really like Stay.
Oh, and you're still dead wrong about TDR.

Still too many I haven't seen.
1. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
2. Wallace and Gromit
3. Kung Fu Hustle
4. Chronicles of Narnia
5. Serenity
6. King Kong
7. Oliver Twist
8. War of the Worlds
9. Sin City
10. Sky High
Standard disclaimer:
My problem is that I haven't seen enough of the new films. I can't always find the time to get to the movies like I would like and when I do go, I tend to want to see the blockbuster special effects kinds of films as opposed to the more "serious" fare, because I figure I can always watch the more serious stuff on DVD and not miss as much of the experience...
So catch me again in a year when I have seen Capote and Good Night and Good Luck and Cinderella Man and I am sure my list will look a lot different.
Other 2005 films I saw which did not make the list: Batman Begins, Brothers Grimm, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride, Hitch, Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Inside Deep Throat, Legend of Zorro, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Robots, Sahara, Star Wars
