Aeon Flux - an American masterpiece?
no , but it doesn't suck at all.. really
And it's actually faithful to the show, which was incredibly bizarre and esoteric too from the couple of episodes I've seen (and which is being kind of mistaken for incoherent in here...) oh, and compared to Catwoman, the camera is VERY still C+

It's kind of a clunky, soulless popcorn flick, although it's somewhat entertaining in a guilty pleasure way and has good special effects
Michael Bay=devil, though. That man needs to not make movies, or at least make something with a brain cell or two.

song: ["End of an Act"] I miss you more than Michael Bay missed the mark, When he made Pearl Harbor. / I miss you more than that movie missed the point, And that's an awful lot, girl. / And now, now you've gone away, And all I'm trying to say, is: Pearl Harbor sucked and I miss you. / I need you like Ben Affleck needs acting school, He was terrible in that film. / I need you like Cuba Gooding needed a bigger part, He's way better than Ben Affleck. / And now, all I can think about is your smile, and that shitty movie, too! Pearl Harbor sucked and I miss you. / Why does Michael Bay get to keep on making movies? / I guess Pearl Harbor sucked, just a little bit more than I miss you.

Doom - B-
This was a huge surprise!, I was expecting the worst piece of crap ever, but it was actually pretty entertaining, a little to stupid and the dialogue was horrible, some lines were laughable, but still good fun!
The FPS looked pretty bad to me, it was very cartoony

Ghost World - B+
Thora Birch gives a very good performance (better than American Beauty), Scarlett Johansson is very hot to look at, Steve Buscemi is his usual self. Better than most other "teenager is confused and trying to find herself" movies.

Yesterday:
ELIZABETHTOWN - 6/10 (B-)
Orlando Bloom gives one horrible performance in this film. It's one of the worst of the year for sure. He deserves a Razzie. It's obvious he'll give a bad performance from the beginning with the wretched voiceover he does for his character. This could have been a better movie with some editing and a different lead actor. It's so overlong. The first 45 minutes or so just drag and I didn't think I'd like this movie at all. It does get quite a bit better though. The ending also drags on and on. Comparisons to Garden State are inevitable because this has so much in common with it, except it's the opposite of that movie's greatness.
Definitely not underrated. It deserved the mediocre reviews it got.
Today:
WALLACE & GROMIT - 7/10 ( B )
A cute flick with a good pro-animal message. The bunnies were cute .
THE NET 2.0 - 7/10 ( B )
A fast-paced, slick-looking sequel that's better than the original. Definitely worth a look.
WAITING - 6/10 (B-)
An alright flick but kind of gross and a little homophobic, not to mention immature. Most of the guys in it were obnoxious and I wouldn't want to hang around them. The food was handled disgustingly and it makes me never want to eat in a dive like the place in the movie. The cheap looking cinematography just makes the movie feel that much more dirty and grimy.
It's not that funny but it was entertaining at times.

BAMBI 2 - 8/10 (B+)
A great sequel that surpasses the original. It's wonderfully animated and very cute. It deserved a theatrical release as I'm sure it will end up being one of the best animated movies to come out of 2006.

When I was a kid I loved Bambi, but then I saw it again a couple of years ago and it's not as great as you remember it being. I was disappointed. The sequel I ended up enjoying more, though obviously it doesn't have any scenes that reach the emotional impact of the original's death of Bambi's mom. Anyway, after seeing Bambi again as an adult I gave it a 7/10 ( B ).
THE ARISTOCRATS - 1/10 (F)
Ok, I only made it through 37 minutes of this movie. JESUS CHRIST! This is the most disgusting, vile, offensive piece of trash I have ever seen! I just thought it was a stand-up comedy movie with a bunch of different comedians telling adult jokes, but YUCK! This is excruciating to sit through! It's a one-joke movie and that joke is one I don't get, nor do I care to. Ugh! This is THE WORST movie of 2005! It's beyond repulsive! For people who actually made it through this movie they should have given them "I Survived The Aristocrats" shirts (like they did with Gigli - except next to this Gigli is an amazing film that deserved to be awarded Best Picture of 2003). What the hell is this? I just know it's 37 minutes I soon hope to forget.

This movie was accurate in many ways from my experiences in the industry. The people did act this way. After working with food and seeing how it is really handled (at least where I was), I have a very hard time eating out and barely do so anymore.

DOOM - 4/10 (D+)
An awful, dull piece of crap. One of the worst movies of the year! The Rock gives a horrible performance, even for this kind of movie. The "action" scenes aren't very interesting because it's so dark you can hardly tell what's going on a lot of the time. I didn't think it would be very good, but I hardly expected it to be this terrible. I only found the first RESIDENT EVIL to be OK but now next to this one I have come to appreciate that movie more.

SAW 2 - 7/10 ( B )
A sequel far better than the lame first one. Shawnee Smith rocked and the ending was wicked cool. My rating is a very solid B. It wasn't far from an 8/10 (B+) and I had a hard time deciding between the two. I'm actually looking forward to the third one now. Hopefully that one is a good one too.
